The Affirmative Action Education Bubble Behind the Campus Protests
Frontpage Magazine ^ | 11/27/2015 | Daniel Greenfield

Forget the housing bubble, the education bubble is about to burst.

Student loan debt is at $1.2 trillion. College enrollment increased under Obama, but graduation rates fell. Barely half the students who enrolled in 2009 graduated.

And some of the biggest casualties were black students.

Only a third of black male college students graduate. Among black women, it’s 44%. And the college graduation gap between white and black students has continued to increase under Obama.

71% of black high school graduates have enrolled in college compared to only 67% of white high school graduates. But that just means more black students washing out while burdened with student loan debt.

The education bubble is following the familiar pattern of the housing bubble as lowering standards and the influx of government money created unsustainable minority debt. Black homeowners were encouraged to take out loans they couldn’t repay and now black students are told to take out loans for an education they are unprepared for.

The problem of meeting national standards was solved through promotion. Students who couldn’t read or do simple sums still graduated with a diploma. 1 in 5 high school graduates can’t read. Only 16 % of black high school seniors were even assessed as proficient readers. That’s bound to be a problem when 71% of black high school graduates go on to college where proficient reading skills are a prerequisite.

The campus race protests are one sign that the end is near.

As David P. Goldman points out, we can’t really talk about what’s going on. Black students don’t feel uncomfortable on campus because of Halloween costumes or a phantom swastika, but because they find themselves unable to compete. Their high school education failed to prepare them for college.

Etch this in stone because it is 100% accurate.

Many were against the thinkings of Senator Moynahan too.

The college tuition bubble has grown due to government-backed, low-interest loans.

Which aren’t dischargable in bankruptcy.

When it bursts it’s going to be really ugly. The government is obligated to guarantee them. There’s going to be a HUGE push to forgive them.

Wow, that’s actually pretty surprising.

I could see Trump backing student loan forgiveness. Conditional on some sort of national service with duration based on amount owed.

And I’m not talking about reading to kids at the local library. I’m talking CCC-style physical labor, or military service.

The helicopter-parented snowflakes who have created this mess have never learned the meaning of service and hard work. It would give them the opportunity to do so.

Universities need to be held accountable too. Any sort of forgiveness plan needs to include strict standards for what type of coursework qualified for federally backed loans. STEM and business yes, grevience studies not so much.

Now we know what a “community organizer” is. A barbarian. A destroyer. A creator of bubbles that cause people’s lives to explode in bankruptcy and go down the drain. A “community organizer” sucks money from taxpayers, funnels it into the pockets of his super-rich cronies, while convincing the poor whose lives he destroys with debt that he is their only friend.

Remember: Cloward and Piven were guests in the Oval Orifice on Inauguration Day in 2009.

This is what happens when you present false hope to people that are not educationally equipped to go to university.
some can’t even read or write to seventh grade equivalence.

What the hell are they doing at a University??

Back in 1978 when I was going to school, they brought A-A high school students in during the summer and gave them a crash courses in reading and writing so they could get in the Fall.

Guess how many made it thorough the first semester??

ZERO!

"We are ready to take this country in a fundamentally new direction. We can stop sending our children to schools with corridors of shame and start putting them on a pathway to success. Yes, we can, to opportunity and prosperity. Yes, we can heal this nation. Yes, we can repair this world. Yes, we can!"**

**Actual speech quotes by Obama

Well, that was the fiction. People were told they were academic geniuses, when the reality is that actual reading and mathematics proficiency of blacks enrolled in colleges and universities is less than 1/5th. People were told by Obama they were academic Olympic track stars, when the reality is many of them could not even walk.

Given the lower high school graduation rate and the open-door policies (automatic acceptance of black students), it really isn’t. Whites are expected to pay full freight, and many are questioning the value of the college degree anyway.

Many young blacks attribute the success of whites to “college”, without understanding the real workings (needing a degree that is in demand, actually learning the subject matter, etc.); they think (as many whites did) that going to college is an automatic ticket into the middle class. Unfortunately, it isn’t; in my experience, a college degree in the hands of a “preferred minority” is the equivalent of a high school diploma in the hands of a real student.

I was talking to an African-American man at work about our struggles to pay college tuition bills. I knew he also had college aged children.

He seemed surprised that I had to shell out so much to send my children through school. His response was that his kid's tuition was all "paid for by the colleges, I hardly pay a dime."

Maybe more of the white high-school students are savvy enough to realize that their lifetime earnings will very likely be higher with a two-year computer science degree or becoming and apprentice electrician or plumber than spending lots of money on some of the many worthless degrees that the colleges have invented.

I read a fascinating article by Thomas Sowell about 20 years or more ago. His point was that actually there were plenty of minority students who could handle Ivy-League work, but they were not the ones accepted because they were seen as too “middle class”.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the head-up-the-butt attitude of the BLM college student “protesters” is the thing that so endeared them to college admissions staffs.

If you plant ice, you’re gonna harvest wind.

That also factors into the grade inflation (meaningless grades) issued to preferred minorities; rather than have them lose scholarships/grants, the professors just give them a “minority B” (similar to a “gentleman’s C”). The grades mean nothing at all.

For whites there is some job security in working alongside these “graduates”; as long as coherent emails and/or letters are part of the job, the white employee should be relatively safe. Preferred minorities and many imported “replacement Americans” simply lack sufficient command of English to perform those duties, and require an on-site “scribe”.
