Is Earth Growing a Hairy Dark Matter 'Beard'?

Gary Prezeau of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif., describes the results of his theoretical model that goes some way to explain how streams of dark matter particles may interact with our planet's gravitational field.

"A (dark matter) stream can be much larger than the solar system itself, and there are many different streams crisscrossing our galactic neighborhood," said Prézeau in a JPL press release. "When gravity interacts with the cold dark matter gas during galaxy formation, all particles within a stream continue traveling at the same velocity."

As these streams begin to interact with a planet, according to results from his computer simulation, the streams pass straight through, focusing as an "ultra-dense filament,"producing many dark matter "hairs" that seem to sprout well above Earth’s surface. This stream will not interact with our planet's normal matter, it will pass through as if nothing were there, but channeled by the intensity of Earth’s gravity.

However, it's not just Earth; all gravitational fields, and therefore all the planets of the solar system, should experience an intense concentration of dark matter, projecting strands of dark matter far into interplanetary space. For Earth, the dark matter streams will emerge from the planet, concentrating as "roots" of the dark matter hairs around 600,000 miles above the surface...

#DarkMatterMatters. It might help explain some of the empty cranial voids of many on Earth that stir up reactions.

No, that’s just the former SF Giants’ reliever, Brian Wilson, “The Bearded One”, the first in a long line of shoe-polish, black-bearded pitchers.

Isn’t the existence of dark matter still theoretical?

Yea,now they’re developing theories based on theories.

Oh woe is modern science.

Hairy Dark Matter 'Beard'?

I don't know about the earth but I definitely see a new trend in men growing long and thick beards.

In another time I wouldn't give a thought to it but given what's going on in the world today, every time I see one I automatically think of the Islamists who are not only defined by their actions but their skanky beards........

Is there a connection between the western beard wearers and their copying the Islamists in an attempt to look tough and badass? I don't know.......

It's certainly up for discussion......

"ultra-dense filament producing many dark matter hairs"

Now I finally understand...

That’s a great theory on how dark matter will interact with gravity.

Now if they can prove it even exists, that would be kinda nice.

Was not there a toy back in the 50's where you used a magnet wand to move iron shavings in a sealed box to shape a beard on a picture of a man's face?

Yeah. Forget what it was called. Maybe someone recalls. - I
never could get the iron shavings to stay where I put them.
So, he ended up with hairs growing out his nose, too much
hair on his eyebrows. Skimpy beard.

I have noticed all the beards/mustaches all ges of males are growing. This a.m. I stopped at a Starbucksfo a coffee and the guys behnd he counter had short beards and staches. A young father in front of me in line also sported the same. I asked what up with all the Isis beards and they all looked surprised. None of them had thought about the idea, but it did start a conversation.
