Military veteran Nura stumped host Pat Sajak and the rest of the America on Tuesday's run of "Wheel of Fortune" when she made some unheard of letter guesses during the lightning round of the popular game show.
Playing alongside fellow veterans Steve and Troy, Nura shocked the audience when she first guessed "Z," "X," and then let a couple turns pass her by when it appeared she could not formulate a guess.
-snip
After her second guess of "X," the puzzle title of "What Are You Doing?" seemed fitting as she continued to confound those watching. The round ended before Nura could make any logical guesses.
Fellow contestant Steve solved the puzzle and took home a tidy sum of $6,400, while Nura still secured the win with a purse of $13,970.
Though it was unconfirmed (and probably unconfirmable), viewers speculated that Nura took a pass on the lightning round to give her fellow service member a fighting chance at the prize. Steve would have gone home empty-handed otherwise.

Wow!
2nd commandment.
I have to agree she purposely acted “stumped”
Big heart!
At least she didn't say, "N_ggers."
Awesome. Massive kudos to Nura, and if you happen to drop by (or even if you don’t), THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!!!
She went with her strategy right from the start.
One my classmates in a HS quiz show did the same to his fellow classmate, a girl who had close to zero points. We knew the dude had the answers but everyone in the audience knew what he was doing when he went silent on some questions everyone knew and kept nodding at the girl, almost saying “answer it, it’s yours”.
Sounds like a publicity stunt for the November sweeps. Pretty clever, in my opinion.
We watched the show; we love Wheel. The instant she called that crazy letter we both said she wanted the first Vet to win some money.
No doubt about it; she’s the best of the best.
What a lady. Awesome.
Honor.
High five, Nura.
What a nice counter point to all the negative stories we read here.
She played it right... opting to not help the other players solve the puzzle that is mostly blank. This gives her additional letters so that she may solve the puzzle.
Two thumbs up, Nura - you’re a class act.
How classy can you get, God bless this Vet.
Right on!
