how come there are weird characters in the posts lately? is it just my laptop or is everyone seeing it?

The timing is unexplained to date.
No, it’s not your laptop. I suspect it’s likely a software problem with the way certain characters are being rendered on FR. For example, quotation marks
“quote”
The preceding word is surrounded by double quotation marks. Sometimes they have been rendered incorrectly recently. Watch it render correctly by me and “make a liar out of me”.
Obviously we were infected with some malware last week. We were warned, but did we listen? No.

These punctuation problems are a result of man-made global warming and prove Algore is a genius.
Same here, with lots of question marks embedded.
I just assumed it was a subtle hint that Jim Robinson now prefers FR donations to be in Euro's. But I could be wrong.

I’ve been seeing the same thing also. All you have to do is adjust th# *^?:@@ and reset the &|~)) and that should take care of the problem.

Yep, that’s just it, sometimes it happens, other times not. That’s what I don’t understand....weird. At first people were saying it’s the setting on the PC but I believe it’s particular to FR only.

You may want to have that comment removed...you can call “abuse” on yourself and the mods will..
Anything you personally type in is probably okay. The junk is showing up in cut-and-paste from places like news sites. I am seeing a lot of “black diamond with question mark” when not seeing the Euro-signs. Maybe it is a browser issue, with newer browsers producing this kind of “hash” on the clipboard.
Well, I think Jim would understand that it is being facetious (though I wouldn’t personally kid in that manner).
Things get taken out of context and pulled from the Web for nefarious reasons...obviously it was a joke...a stupid one
