https://www.facinghistory.org/for-educators/educator-resources/readings/do-you-take-oath

excerpts:

Those in civil service pledged: “I swear I will be true and obedient to the Führer of the German Reich and people, Adolf Hitler, observe the law, and conscientiously fulfill the duties of my office, so help me God.”...

Not everyone was willing to take the oath. Among those who refused was Ricarda Huch, a poet and writer. She resigned from the prestigious Prussian Academy of Arts with this letter. [Substitute American for German!]

“That a German should feel German, I should take almost for granted. But there are different opinions about what is German and how German-ness is to be expressed. What the present regime prescribes as national sentiment, is not my German-ness. The centralization, the compulsion, the brutal methods, the defamation of people who think differently, the boastful self-praise I regard as un-German and unhealthy.

Possessing a philosophy that varies so radically from that prescribed by the state I find it impossible to remain one of its academicians....”

And somehow I know this means they’ll be raising their prices and/or collecting some type of fee to “combat” global warming. When my wife and I were at Walmart last night we noticed groceries have jumped in price again. I can’t think of a time when the cost of everything has risen so dramaticallyunder another president. Under Obama’s reign its been very substantial.

We live in a corporatist society where big government, big business and big banks are all in partnership with each other.

Nigel Farage of the United Kingdom Independence Party explained it when he spoke at CPAC earlier this year.

The big people benefit from climate change policy and the little folks don’t.

Conservative shareholders who show up at the annual meetings are told Wal-Mart profits from having a ‘sustainability policy’ because of climate change.

Big companies can profit from a society regulated around the notion of ‘climate change’ while the little companies can’t.

It will be a challenge, but I think we can reduce our patronage of many of these. AT&T will lose our cellphone business. I drink too much Coke, anyway. Walmart? Pew!

Yeah, do-able.

So the progressive now love corporations ? Might as well since they are all fascists under the hood.

Heh - nothing spells out ‘s-t-u-p-i-d’ quite like a corporate memo from on-high. Put management and hr in the same room with a few sheets of paper and a box of crayons and - VOILA!

if a company wants to do business in a fascist world, then they have to follow the fascists ways of cronyism...

it is just a part of doing business until we the people set things straight.

in a world that needs to cut the population to sustainable levels, isn’t it funny how mammograms need only be done bi annually starting at age 50, fats aren’t bad for you any more and abortion is a woman’s right no matter how far along...

Lord, have mercy on our pathetic souls.

Thank you for that. I was not aware of her and the actions she took.

I wish I had been when I wrote this piece for my hometown newspaper:

Dietrich Bonhoeffer: Faith and redemption in the ‘Garden of Evil’

I have no problem with a bunch of companies agreeing to mutually throw money away and do stupid stuff. I do have a problem with a fascist government leaning on companies and all but forcing them to do it.

There’s approximately 30 million businesses in the USA today.
They employ most people.

For the consumer, a flat drink.

For Coca Cola?? They're gonna get filthy rich!
Not having to carbonate a gazzilion cans and bottles of coke worldwide!

...assuming that they can sell any...

*SNRK!!*

Now I have to recheck the list to see what beer brewers are on there. Non-carbonated barleywine is not as popular FWICS.

Didn’t see any brewers, or champagne vintners.
