There was a story on here a few days ago about a retired military dog that got loose and was shot while chasing a man on a bicycle.
Lots of people defended the dog and thought the biker over reacted. I wonder if they’ll show up on this thread?
If you love your dog, you keep it secure. If the dog gets shot or hurt, that’s your problem. The average person walking down the street doesn’t know *your* dog and it’s not their job to assume the best.
Chet was right...
Will pepper spray stop dogs or just make them more angry?
I think a reasonable person would know when the threshold has been crossed and it’s time to put someone’s dog down. I don’t know anyone that would do such a thing without careful consideration of the situation.
We installed a 6 foot chain link fence around our in-town property so there wouldn’t be any issues with out Doberman. Good fences prevent problems.
Yeah — but not always a realistic choice.
“Breed-banning”. Sounds horrible. In the case of pits and partial pits, I’d say it is justified.
Chet 99 was right.
2 pits in my area of Indiana recently attacked 2 teen aged girls, chased them into a field, was chewing on them, a passerby drove her vehicle off the road into the field to help rescue them....the owner showed up and the dogs turned on him...when the police arrived, they put the dogs down....owner faces SERIOUS charges. I girl O.K., 1 still in the hospital with critical injuries.
They sell some stuff that supposes to work on grizzles
Went to the dog pound a few weeks ago to see what they had in a smaller dog...They were housing 80-100 dogs...95% Pit Bulls...Apparently people don’t want them after they get them...
