Actually he had several Ellie, Peggy, Mary , of which one are you referring?

I’d say it was “conservative” in a libertarian sort of way.

( I would LOVE to have my old "substandard" insurance back. It didn't cost $1300 a month.)

Wasn't that Grandpa Munster?

The style of Naked City was to let the guest star shine each week, and let the regulars act as supporting characters. It was always about the stories, not the characters or actors.

OK, as a kid growing up in the 50’s and early 60’s I must give honorable mention to ‘The Lone Ranger!” especially Clayton Moore who followed the Ranger's creed to his death.

Donnie Wahlburg was in “Band of Brothers”. He played 1st Sgt Lipton.
Did a pretty good job, but then they all did.

The Rifleman is still on around here on Saturday mornings. It's a staple at our house. And, at the local barber shop. 😎

That’s like what Mae West said:

OMG, Ginger as a transgender??? OMG.
Wow, that’s enough to deflate the thoughts of the teenage boys of that time who watched that show...........
In that case, in the “Ginger vs. Mary Anne” debates, Mary Anne or Maria Anna would win by default..............

Interestingly enough though, Webb did hire Julie and her new husband Bobby Troop for Emergency!

I don’t know about the conservative part; but I loved Andy Griffith (Ernest T Bass always cracked me up), Gunsmoke, Rifleman, F-Troop, Gilligan’s Island, McHale’s Navy, Beverly Hillbillies...I could go on and on. Good memories!
TV these days is horrible.

Here's an interesting bit of TV trivia ...
"Bonanza" actually got poor ratings on the air early on. It was aired at the same time as "Perry Mason," which was a top-rated show.
NBC kept it on the air as part of a cross-promotion strategy. RCA was the parent company of NBC at the time and was the show's biggest sponsor, and the fabulous outdoor scenes in "Bonanza" were seen as a way to help sell RCA's line of color televisions.

These shows reflected the traditional values of the time, which are conservative by today’s definition. Apply the same logic to current offerings and consider what that means...
