The brother of Los Angeles Dodger relief pitcher Josh Ravin was shot and wounded in Woodland Hills, and police Monday were trying to find the suspect in the case.
The Dodgers player blamed a mentally unstable person for the shooting of his brother.
The shooting happened near 22901 Vanowen St., LAPD Officer Mike Lopez said.
A man in his 30s was shot multiple times, Lopez said Sunday after the early morning shooting. He was taken to a hospital in stable condition and remains in stable condition today.
Pitcher Josh Ravin posted several statements about the shooting of his brother, Joel Ravin, on the players Twitter account.
In his first statement on the attack, Ravin wrote, My brother was shot three times this morning by a mentally unstable person. We dont need gun control. We need mental health control.
Then about 2:30 p.m. he posted a third statement. Last time I checked guns werent sentient.
Ravins mother, Lana Ravin of Woodland Hills, told the Los Angeles Daily News that Joel Ravin was shot five times and had a bullet lodged in his kidney and one in his neck. One of the bullets nicked his spinal cord and her son Joel had surgery on his arm this morning, but there are more surgeries to come, she said.

That’s one tough guy to take 5 bullets and still be alive!
I’m sorry about the shooting, but it’s about time those affected by this are not doing the Pavlov’s Dog thing (as in GunControl!), but calling for us to address the mental health issues in this country.
He’ll be ignored by the msm, I’m sure.
This about 6 miles away from where I live....
Musta been a drug buy gone badly.
Do you happen to know the street or address?
