Emily Blunt said she became an American because her husband and daughter are both Americans, and its certainly a more protected position for her to be in.
Its mainly for tax reasons, Blunt said during an interview with the Sunday Times.
I didnt want to renounce my Queen. I felt quite sad, actually. Having to be sworn into a country that wasnt mine. I know at the core of it I havent given up anything, but it was sort of bittersweet.
You have to learn all about the Constitution. You cant be a habitual drunk, you cant be on a guerrilla squad and you cant be a prostitute, which is a shame.

Please, Emily. Go back to your Queen and her dissolute offspring. We don’t need your help here.
Shame, I only looked at her to picture her naked, now I cannot do that anymore.
Emily clunt won’t get a dollar from this American.
Another airhead movie star.
But at least she’s not a traitor like Jane “Vietnam Vets Ain’t Fonda Jane.”
In the future regarding whether to see a movie, I’ll be checking the cast to make sure she’s not in it (she’s on the list with Fonda in that category).
Sad as she was good in Sicario. Well I won’t see her again.
The English sound so ignorant when they bring up the Queen.
Seriously, is it 1770 ?
“you cant be a prostitute”
She is an actress who takes her clothes off for money so....
We regretted her becoming a citizen too.
You have to learn all about the Constitution. You cant be a habitual drunk, you cant be on a guerrilla squad and you cant be a prostitute, which is a shame.
She’s already had to apologize for making a joke about her new citizenship, and I’m guessing she thought this would make a good joke, too. Newsflash to Ms. Blunt, don’t quit your day job. You are a terrible comedienne.
She doesn’t want to abandon her queen. We have thousands of queens—and that’s just in Los Angeles.
No no no no no!!!! Pay for your liberal ideas with the higher taxes your liberal ideas demand.
Translation: I’ll do anything for money.
