It’s okay...the falsetto is bugging me, and I’m a big Frankie Valli fan.

Wasn’t “Live and Let Die” a Billboard #1 in the 70’s?

Shirley Bassey's Goldfinger hit number 8 on the Billboard Charts in 1965...not bad.

I think so.

I know “View to a Kill” hit #1 on the charts for several weeks in the 80’s.

Adele’s “Skyfall” was up there too.

As far as most popular, it depends on one of the half dozen or so top ten lists on the subject you look at.

IMO it should be based on Billboard ranking.

I have an old (1990) book of Top 40 albums.

It says A View to a Kill hit #1 in 1985

You’re right about “View to a Kill.” I don’t really listen to popular music now, so no clue about Adele. Way too much good underground metal and rock being produced by bands circumventing the record companies like Baroness, Corsair and Horisont (to name a few.)

This is just wierd. Several Bond theme songs have been #1. “Live and Let Die,” “Nobody Does it Better” and “View to a Kill.” The first two are debatable (they depend on which source you use), but Duran Duran’s “View to a Kill” is undebatable.

It’s the “Hey Jude” Of Bond themes.
The movie will be over before the song ends.

I thought Adele's Skyfall was #1 as well. I like Adele, and the song wasn't bad, but I remember thinking she must of sang the word “Skyfall” a thousand times!

And now I have the lyrics to A View to a Kill running through my head, I hadn't thought of that song since High School!

I hope the movie is better than the song, because it sucks.

Read John Taylor’s book (Duran Duran bassist) and this song came out of a dinner he had with Barb Broccoli, who convinced John to pen the song, along with fellow band member Nick Rhodes and another songwriter who worked with the film’s score.

This is sure getting a lot of media for a completely insignificant piece of ‘news’.
