Musician and outspoken conservative activist Ted Nugent has a presidential favorite: Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.

“Ted Cruz, I think he’d make a wonderful president,” Nugent told radio host Lars Larson on Tuesday.

Still, the musician is also a fan of Donald Trump, unsurprisingly because of Trump’s attitude.

“I’m a big big fan of Donald Trump’s,” Nugent said

I think Nugent endorsed Cruz today.

The Fourth Branch, “The People”, we were speaking in 2010, and we were organizing in 2012, We will be on fire in 2016, one way or the other!

No contradiction. I’m both pro Cruz and pro Trump.

Right now, Trump is the only path forward. Cruz, I fear, was being swallowed by the GOPe game, and I think he decided he just couldn’t do it. He may be susceptible to the power of big donor cash, or he may now be beyond purchase since he’s seen the light. It’s hard to say, but it looks like, at the very least, at one point he was dancing to the tune of the big donors.

That really doesn’t matter much, because the GOPe has rigged the primary game to stop Cruz, or any other normal candidate that tries to defeat the GOPe choice, Jeb Bush.

Along comes Trump, who because of his big wallet and big ego can’t be bought, and the GOPe plan is in danger. It’s not just that Trump won’t easily be swayed by money, his totally non PC brashness and willingness to discuss issues that nobody else wants to touch, and his knowledge of how the game is played, and his sometimes jaw droppingly brilliant tactics all make him the weapon that can kill the GOPe hold on the nomination process.

I’m no wild eyed follower of Trump. He can sound like an idiot, the autism/vaccine thing shows that, but I think was honestly going off bum info. And he thinks that’s no big deal, because the guy he’ll have working for him is supposed to get those kind of things right.

He truly believes that he’ll delegate the details to the best he can find, then just point the way. It’s not politics as usual, but it’s a valid way to lead.

I don’t like some of his positions. He talks too much. He’s got a damn high opinion of himself, but he has a sense of humor about it.

But it all boils down to this: Trump is the only way to smash the GOPe stranglehold on the party, and the GOPe is effectively allied with the Democrats when it comes to staying in power and on the major issues.

Face it, Karl Rove, Boehner and the Turtle would all rather have President Hillary than President Trump, and not because they think Trump is a clown, unstable or a secret liberal. It’s because if he wins, the gravy train may well end for the professional political weasels.

I agree with all of that except the vaccine bit. There is an autism epedemic in America. Something is causing it. there was evidence that it was a mercury based preservative being used in vaccines. Nobody really had an issue with vaccines, it was the preservative that had people skittish and rightfully so. History is full of examples of humans using substances that they thought were inocuous that turned out to be deadly- lead paint for example. asbestos is another. COX2 inhibitor NSAIDs are another. When it comes to pumping chemicals into our children, we should be overly cautious. Dr.s Carson and Paul both backed Trump up on that too.

I don’t hate Trump, I just wonder why it doesn’t seem FR gives him the same scrutiny as they do others. When people say Trump has his own money so he won’t be beholden to anyone— well Donald Trump is still a businessman and has kissed up to the Clinton’s and others. Yes, someone else in his family will run his businesses if he is elected, but he is still going to want to “help them out”. He’s said it himself, it’s the nature of his world.

With a comment like this for better or worse Trump cuts through the crap and hits the nail on the head and strikes a chord with grassroots voters.

I support Ted Cruz, but I cannot deny the communicative talent of Trump.

And yes, the banking and business elites that buy our political elites want the political establishment to destroy Trump at all costs.

The fact remains however, he’s not yet gained traction. I am very curious to see what the upcoming polls show.

Cruz is keeping his powder dry. He has plenty of money. He will be part of the final couple and will wind up as Donald's running mate in my view.

Trump has had more scrutiny and more nasty things said about him than any other candidate.

What good does it do to tear up the only guys we have between us and Karl Mar...er...Carl Rove’s scumbags.

Tearing up our own that we do like, Trump and Cruz, will not elevate either one.

One man with total control of a full third of the United States government can accomplish a lot as our current resident has shown us.

Sorry I have no interest in dictators or their supporters. Any man who doesn’t think he’s constrained by the constitution is no different than Obama and his worshipers are unworthy of the right to vote.

The executive branch has always controlled a third of the US government. That’s called separation of powers and it’s the complete opposite of a dictatorship and what Trump is proposing is abiding by the constitution, not defying it; case in point, the 14th amendment issue.

The internet sensation Diamond and Silk aren’t touching Cruz, either.

They had been for Carson as VP but they have even gone after Carson in recent days - although they skipped knocking Carson’s last debate.
