Even though NY voted to make that carpetbagger non-daughter hillary its senator, it would be great to see them rally around one of their own.

My first choice remains, as it has since the outset of the primaries, Southerner Senator Ted Cruz. But, for a Yankee, Trump isn't so bad. Dare I say it as a partisan of all things Southern (except for the CFB...but that's a long story), but maybe the Republic needs a dose of a New York tough guy. Words I thought I would never utter since, frankly, I don't much care for New York.

It would be interesting to see what the NY voters would do.

I suspect that demographically, the New York of 1980 no longer exists.
How does the white population compare, percentage wise, then and now?

I’ve been wondering about the same thing. Why wouldn’t Trump be able to take New York. There is a large Hispanic population, but they are by and large Caribbean Hispanic, not Mexican/Central American, which means they have not much more personal connection to illegal aliens than the average American other than that they share the same label “Hispanic”, which is in itself an overly broad label when you think about it. Then yes, NYC chock full of liberals dominates the state, but Bloomberg won twice there as a Republican (and once more as an independent), and now with di Blasio unleashing a major crime wave, a lot of New Yorkers are probably looking back wistfully on the Bloomberg years. I could see it.

That was prior to rampant and blatant voter fraud.
