[Full Title] CNN Staffers Complain to Jeff Zucker About Obsessive Trump Coverage, Bumping Anderson Cooper's Katrina Special (Exclusive)
We are not perfect, network president says about coverage of GOP frontrunner at Thursday town hall, a network insider tells TheWrap
Jeff Zucker has guided his producers and talent to cover Donald Trump until the eyeballs start turning away. Apparently, his producers already want to.
At a network town hall on Thursday, producers complained about the obsessive coverage the network has given the GOP frontrunner, including airing full campaign rallies and an endless amount of segments dedicated to Trump.
One producer expressed concern that the network, as TheWrap first reported, bumped an Anderson Cooper special on the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina last month to air a post-Trump-rally hour hosted by Don Lemon.

On overall Trump coverage, Zucker simply responded we are not perfect, the insider said. Responding specifically to the pre-empting of Coopers Katrina special, Zucker pointed to the fact that Cooper was on vacation when the special was scheduled to air.
On Katrina he felt it was better to run it when Anderson was back anchoring, the insider said of Zuckers response. The CNN boss also defended the move by saying the ratings for the special were strong when it eventually aired.
But many at the network scratched their heads over the rationale since the program was pre-taped.
CNN will get a whole lot more of Trump in the next week as the network gears up for the GOP presidential debate it will air September 16.
Its promo commercials feature Trump and Jeb Bush sounding off.
Sounds like the “staffers” got Obama’s memo.
Maybe Zucker has decided CNN needs some actual viewers to stay in business, despite the druthers of the Democrat propaganda staffers.
If Anderson wants more air-time he should go transgender or something.
Above are Frank Luntz's focus group after their segment was aired in the 1st debate.
Will CNN have an after debate focus group?
Thanks for connecting the dots between the media and the White House !
Dear CNN,
As a non-Negroid with no broadcasted face survivor of Hurricane Katrina, CNN’s depiction of anything connected to that storm was nothing more than the “See how queer I am -Anderson Cooper Show”.
It has been ten years, yes. I had not only moved on, but did move OUT of the Greater New Orleans Metropolitan Area, washing my hands with clear ‘sani-pure’, to completely get it all off.
I am a Trump watcher. Unlike Anderson Cooper, who has done nothing with his life, but to interject himself into the lives of anybody he got near, Donald Trump has left his physical thumbprint on many places on the face of the planet.
