It WAS a great play, and it was so Colon. I hope the throw doesn’t overshadow what he actually did as a pitcher last night. Most of the sport headlines are of the throw, with the WaPo being quite negative— calling it ‘rediculous’. I always like watching him. He acts so casual, but is usually right on mark.
42 year old Bartolo Colon is the second oldest active player behind LaTroy Hawkins of the Colorado Rockies. LaTroy will be the last player born in 1972 to play.
The 11 oldest players were born before 1976. #10 in age Randy Choate turned 40 yesterday. David Ortiz turns 40 in November.

I know Big Papi has signed on to play next year. Don’t know who else of the 40 plus club will be playing.
I'll bet he has small feet. Large guys with small feet can be pretty nimble -- Jackie Gleason, for example, did dance routines.
Fat guys rule!
Charlie Steiner, one of the Dodgers announcers said that Colon replied to a question posed by a reporter asking how he managed to gain weight during the season. Colon allegedly replied, “lot’s of meat and cheese.”
I don’t know why, but I thought that was really funny. I eat frozen burritos covered in cheddar cheese quite often for lunch and I can confirm, it works!
Regardless his looks, Bart’s still quite the pitcher and a character as well.
