A Florida gun maker is marketing an AR-15 carbine that he says will be “Islamic-free” because of the Bible verse he etches on each rifle. It’s aptly named “the Crusader.”
Each Crusader coming out of Spike’s Tactical in Apopka, Florida, is laser-etched on the right side of the rifle’s lower receiver with Psalm 144:1: “Blessed be the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle.
On the left side, a cross and shield are etched.
Ben “Mookie” Thomas, spokesman for Spike’s Tactical, told Tampa Bay CBS-TV affiliate WTSP 10 News what led to the development of the Crusader:
“Right now, and as it has been for quite some time, one of the biggest threats in the world is and remains Islamic terrorism,” Thomas, who is a former Navy SEAL and former Blackwater security contractor, told the station. “We wanted to make sure we built a weapon that would never be able to be used by Muslim terrorists to kill innocent people or advance their radical agenda.”
In addition to the Bible verse and shield, the area around the safety selector switch is specially marked.
Instead of indicating “safe” and “fire,” its marking are “Pax Pacis,” Latin for “peace,” and “Bellum,” for “war.” It also says “Deus Vult,” or “God wills it.”
WTSP reported:
The rifle shoots standard .223 or 5.56 ammunition, but can be modified to shoot 300 AAC Blackout ammunition by simply changing the barrel.
The Crusader retails for $1,395, and like all Spike’s Tactical products, has a manufacturer’s lifetime warranty.
The company doesn’t indicate whether its claim of being “Islamic-proof” is included in the warranty.
As for the claim itself, the Florida chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR, was not amused, and issued the following statement:
Americans have tragically witnessed over 250 mass killings in 2015 alone, which amounts to more than one per each day. Only one of those killings involved a self-proclaimed Muslim. Sadly, this manufacturer’s fancy new gun won’t do anything to stop the real threat in America: the escalating problem of gun violence. This is just another shameful marketing ploy intended to profit from the promotion of hatred, division, and violence.
Some people just can’t take a joke.

In India in 1857 there was the Seploy rebellion where the Indian muzzies revolted against their British masters because the gunpowder cartridges contained pig grease.
All gun sellers could also state that there is a certain amount of porcine fat used in the gun’s lubrication and put a little red label sticker on the barrel.
Little red stickers would be cheaper than engraved Bible verses.

They haven’t had any difficulty turning churches into mosques, I’m sure they don’t mind editing these guns and then using them.
CAIR is a terrorist organization. Screw ‘em.
