Hillary's Server Wipe Has Done Incalculable Damage to U.S. Counter-Intelligence
American Thinker ^ | 9/5/2015 | Thomas Lifson

Hillary Clinton’s decision to wipe clean her email server has already done enormous damage to US intelligence efforts. The logic is so clear and compelling that it is amazing to me that only now, and only via an email to the blog Powerline, has the extent of her reckless (at best) action become clear. Scott Johnson passes along this, from reader he terms “knowledgable”:

I saw your note on Clinton emails. You and everyone else are missing the real problem and scandal. It is not the emails she saved and turned over to the State Department. It is the erased server, but not for the reasons most people are talking about.

A Secretary of State has broad SCI clearances which means she has access to sources and methods. We know now that HC had classified information on her email server because of what she turned over. What we don’t know is what she didn’t turn over. This creates a massive Counter-Intelligence (CI) problem.

The CI community knows she managed to jump the “air gap” on some information but because she erased the server they do not know the full extend of the jump. If she had turned over the server to the proper authorities the CI community could calibrate the extent of the potential damage. Now, barring a recovery of server data, they cannot. This means that CI has to treat all sources and methods to which the Secretary of State (and others potentially) was exposed as compromised.

Its even worse. By not turning over the server she prevented a forensic examine from determining if she was hacked and by what methods. She undermined any ability to exploit that knowledge to limit damage to U.S. National Security or to undermine and prevent a future use of similar hacking tools.

Both Clintons should have been thrown in prison years ago.

We could also save a lot of time by tossing all Democrats in Prison. They are mostly unconvicted felons anyway.

Put it in simple terms: by protecting her own short-term “political” and “financial” interests, she placed at risk the liberty and security of the nation and world in which even her own posterity must live.

Finally, someone has addressed the real issues behind this MASSIVE compromise of the security of the Republic.

There are a few other major impacts that were not mentioned and I will not mention them in either public or private forms.

The total impact of Hillary’s pathological desire to maintain her political creditability and continue to run for President will last for decades.

Isn’t she a great example of one of our “best and brightest” based on the colleges, graduate and post-graduate, she attended?

not only does she not care, no Democrats care, and not just professional Democrats, but actual voters.

None of them care. They are so convinced they are right about everything, that no amount of sociopathic wrongdoing can ever be unjustified.

Great comments! Having two grandkids who work for the State Dept. and are assigned abroad, I know of a few of the concerns that won’t be mentioned.

This is the most deplorable candidate for President we have ever had. Totally incompetent and untrustworthy. I hope the next DOJ puts her in jail.

Hillary was a lousy first lady, she was a lousy senator, and she was a lousy secretary of state.

Why? Because everything use does is geared to make her the first female president of the United States and she doesn't mind stepping on as many people as possible in order to get it.

One of her heroes is Adolph Hitler. Her thinking lines up with his in an incredible manner.

She would also make a lousy president.

Maybe that fraud, who claimed for a mere $500,000, he would turn over the records can be of some use...

Hadn't thought f that particular problem (of course I never worked in the Intel Community), but common sense tells us that the writer is correct.
The US Intel Community now has to consider that all assets, methods, and technology have been exposed and compromised.
There is no way to know what our enemies have, or even exactly how they got it.

IMHO Hillary Clinton will go down in our history, if there is going to be one, as the 21st Century’s Benedict Arnold.

“LAPDOG LANNY” WONT BELIEVE IT BUT—THIS HAS CRIMINAL IMPLICATIONS A cabinet-level government employee using their own server and personal e-mail exclusively is unheard of.

<><> the US govt tech system is really fussy——particularly about emails from the US State Dept.

<><> a govt official (particularly the Secy of State) cannot simply buy a brand new computer with licenses and programs and expect to have it certified.

<><> US govt officials are required to have a government-purchased computer, set up by the govt, utilizing a CACC card cleared technician.

<><> a high government official (particularly the Secy of State) to utilize day to day a non-government computer for communications in the performance of their job is in violation of security laws in dozens of ways.

<><> whether marked as such, all emails emanating from Hillary’s private server are classified ntl security data.

It is considered a crime for ex-govt employees to possess ntl security emails. All ntl security material belongs to the American people and is to be turned over upon termination of employment.

Ntl security info being kept in The Clinton Foundation server is an atrocity.

Can’t we get one of our ‘agents’ in China or Russia or damn near any other country with electricity to lend us their copy of Hillary’s e-mails?
