A Madison police officer was confronted by a crowd and punched after a street fight on Prairie Road Wednesday night, according to a release from Madison police.
The officer stopped in the area of Prairie Road and Jacobs Way around 6:20 p.m. after spotting a large number of people in the street. He said that as he approached he saw a woman punch a man in the face, and he could see that the woman had a can of pepper spray.
The officer said that as he went to arrest the woman he was surrounded by a crowd that was voicing anti-police sentiments, including "We need to start killing these officers."

If I were the cop, I'd turn a blind eye and have kept driving. They're just not worth it.

Here in NJ (where slavery was legal until 1846) we always understood why southerners did what they did; we just avoided the uglier parts of Jim Crow by completely segregating them (so you would never share a bathroom or water fountain anyway). To this day NJ is still very segregated in terms of blacks and whites (though Asians and Hispanics are mixed in everywhere).

Every officer must undergo cultural competency testing before being hired. They must have a psychological test done every two years at 400 dollars a pop. They must attend at least eight hours of racial bias training each year and have regular racial bias testing done to see if they are racist.
Of course, administered by racists. I am telling people to brush up on their statutory and constitutional law, because the average citizen will be tasked with being the police in the future.
And who would blame him?
