They’ll make sure we “Remember The Alamo” in a whole new way.
Facilitated by another GOPe Bush.
Guess I’ll get down there an see it one last time before its destroyed.....
I was thinking the same, more Bushes and their damn new world order. And to think I used to like them.
Santa Anna will be the hero of the battle by the time they are thru.
“Santa Anna will be the hero of the battle by the time they are thru”.
That’s right. It will be noted that Santa Ann was, among other things, going to free the black slave held by Jim Bowie./s
Are they going to wall off Alamo Plaza? The grounds are basically inside-out from the historic mission. The current park-like grounds are outside the traditional walls, and the road goes right through where Travis and Crockett died.
“Facilitated by another GOPe Bush.”
Even worse, George Bush tried to steal the private library collection owned by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas merely because the building he DRT built at their private expense was on the state property, and which the DRT still has a year remaining on the lease for the site for their building. That’s akin to trying to steal a private renter’s goods furniture merely because they’re in an apartment that was leased to you.
DRT had to get a restraining order against George Bush to access their library collection and prevent George Bush from stealing it.
Will they finally open the basement for tours?
Before you know it, the creation of the Republic of Texas will be considered another American travesty and the only right thing to do will be give it back to Mexico. Anyone that remains with allegiance to Texas will be double taxed and have their property subject to seizure.
Relegated for the Texans; the rest of it is for the Mexicans.
Using your movie shot of the replica Alamo as a reference, you can see the famous mission facade faces inward on the walled compound. Now that facade faces Alamo Plaza, the street that runs right through where John Wayne (as Crockett) is standing. The current park is on the far side toward the stockades in the rear.
Actually, I prefer THE LAST COMMAND with Sterling Hayden.
I know what they need to do! Buy up all the streets around it, tear the buildings down, rebuild the Alamo as it originally looked, add Ferris wheels, merry go rounds, slides and charge an entrance fee! An Amusement park on the site where so many died!
I was there around 8 or 9 years ago and then this Summer I was there again.
There was a lot of construction around the area. And it is getting gentrified now.
There used to be a funky old school eatery across the street, can’t remember the name, that’s gone now for example.
George Pee running for office using the Alamo as stagecraft.
It’s the Republican-Left mafia in usual form, rewriting history, making heroes of invaders.
What has changed since that day at the Alamo? They are still coming in.
George P is the son of Columba.
Columba was born and raised in Mexico. She gained her citizenship here years after marrying Jeb.
Her father, I am reading, was angry, beat his wife and kids, and this was due, according to the WaPo article, his not being able to find work, had to move to the US, and somehow the US is to blame in there, if I understand reading between the lines, along with my interpretation of what goes on.
Here’s what she is about:
Friends say Columba never felt as if she fit in at the capital, Tallahassee, which is culturally closer to Georgia and Alabama than the diverse environment of South Florida, where she continued to spend much of her time.
The US and the Floridians ar probably to blame for her inability to assimilate.
We ought to just change into Mexico.
Or all Gay.
Or all cop haters
anyway, George P can and will fix the Alamo, I guess
Just returned from the Alamo. I wouldn’t go if I were you. It’s like one big convenience store, hawking names of heroes. The last reverent bastion there in San Antone is San Fernando Cathedral. Only there can you collect yourself and internalize what happened and who was there.
Have a titanic fun day!
