He’s a good guy, and just will not quit. How could you not like him? I never thought he was a great (or even good) NFL quarterback, but his determination is remarkable. I’m rooting for him and hope he makes the roster.
It wasn’t a matter of siding with the MSM. Tebow just wasn’t that good. His numbers were pathetic. Yes, he did have one good half season with the Broncos, but his brand of football doesn’t translate to a long term successful NFL career.
That being said, he’s continually trying to improve instead of whining about bing “mistreated”, and is tough as nails.
I watched the game. He did OK overall; very good in his first series and then typical Tebow for the rest of the half. The Eagles carry three QBs and there are four in camp. Either Sanchez or Bradford will be starter and Barkley will be second string. Since the loser of the Sanchez/Bradford fight will probably be cut then Tebow could stick with the team as third string.
He was 6 for 12 for 67 yards and three sacks. Barkley was 12 for 20 for 197 and no sacks. Tebow looked like Tebow.
Everybody knows the reputation of the Philly sports fans, however, a guy like Tebow can do well there. They love a guy who's humble and works hard despite the odds against him. Vince Papale is an excellent example of this. (A real life "Rocky" type.)
Yea it was. Teams have stuck with and improved the skills of far lesser players and do so every season. Vinny Testeverde anyone?
Eagles fans have always liked lunch pail players like Tim. That hasn't prevented us from appreciating the pure on the field beauty of a Terrell Owens.
Anyway, I think he had a great day being it was his first game in a couple years. I’m hoping that he not only makes the team but gets to the starter position.
I think he is playing well enough to make the third QB on the team
That was the past. The modern NFL doesn’t have time to develop players. Just look at how many of the coaches that have played him have been fired. A QB is good or he’s out, and if he’s not out his coach is, sometimes both. The fact is Tebow has just never had the skills. Good guy, big heart, bad QB.
He had to raise up his hands to quite the crowd they were so loud.
And look at the disaster that is the ‘modern’ NFL because of it.
He won't start unless there's a rash of injuries. Barkley outplayed Tebow by every measure and the starting position is a toss-up between Bradford and Sanchez. He could stick as third string.
OH that good to know
So in other word Eagles fans have a little heart here LOL!
Depends on how you look at it. The money keeps going up and up and up. Yeah badly run teams stink. But well run teams don’t. Which is part of Tebow’s problem, the only well run team he was on was the Pats, and they cut him because he just plain wasn’t good enough.
I just read an article the other day that said the fans in Philly were going crazy for him.
If Tim Tebow was good enough to make an NFL roster in the past 2 years, he would have. If you think Bill Belichick cut him because of some vast conspiracy to keep Tebow out of the league because of his Christian beliefs, then you clearly know nothing about football.
I look at it from the standpoint that the NFL will do anything in their power to buy their way out/defend actual criminals but not spend anything on players that are fixable.
The guy was one of the best in College. He is elementally ‘fixable’.
But the NFL isn’t about football. It’s about agendas. And Tebow does not fit theirs. One need only look to the Sam thing to see the black and white truth of that. That guy had zero talent. And yet the NFL played hardball with owners to put/keep him on the rosters to milk the PR and serve the agenda.
What disaster? Yeah some guys get arrested. Some have committed serious crimes. Professional athletes have been breaking the rules and getting in trouble since the dawn of the paid athlete.
