Asian Movie for a Sunday Evening

I'd like to start a ping list for Bolliwood and Hong Kong Movies. Often these are low budget by US standards but can be really funny and lack the PC nonsense in Hollywood productions.

This one is a spoof of James Bond, Peter Gun, Get Smart, Die Hard, and Lethal Weapon and several Bruce Lee Films.

It is low brow humor very bloody and a tremendous amount of fun. See how many parodies you can identify.

Enjoy

Sounds good but why Bolliwood and Hong Kong?

I like Korean dramas, personally but I have also watched a few from Taiwan that I liked.

Anyway, there was a 2008 Korean “western” I thought was funny called “The Good, The Bad, The Weird”. Obviously a take on the Clint Eastwood film.

I am sure there are places to watch it online, probably not one of the normal “legal” sites if you know what I mean.

Another good Korea film

“I’m a Cyborg but it’s OK”

I can’t begin to explain that one

In a more serious vein, the South Korean The Divine Move is a masterpiece. Streaming on Netflix.

It's been years since I saw it, but "What's Up Tiger Lily" was pretty funny as I recall:

In comic Woody Allen's film debut, he took the Japanese action film "International Secret Police: Key of Keys" and re-dubbed it, changing the plot to make it revolve around a secret egg salad recipe.

I never saw that one. baduk will ruin you! lol

I remember seeing a Korean movie on Dramafever loosely based on a real story of a former Olympic weightlifter, down on his luck, who starts a high-school girls weightlifting team.

“Lifting King Kong” I think was the English name

It wasn’t a great quality film and they were intentionally going for an “old look” too.

The thing I remember most is that the girls really looked like high schoolers, even though some of the actresses were in their twenties.
