Is Nobody Talking About Meadows? (Motion to Oust Boehner)

What if we could take out the Speaker but nobody joined?

So just over eighteen hours ago, Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) 83% put in a resolution to Speaker Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) N/A% to “vacate the chair.” He composed a list of grievances, a list that has been hashed and re-hashed ALL OVER these Redstate Diaries for over four years! Meadows lists the Speaker’s attempt to “consolidate power and centralize decision-making… punish Members who vote according to their conscience instead of the will of the Speaker… use the legislative calendar to create crises for the American people.” This is great stuff!

One of the most important and deleterious problems he describes is the ceding of legislative authority to the Executive Branch, and ceding the role of oversight to the Judicial. Those are the two biggest checks the Congress has over the Executive: funding and oversight. Congress takes the easy action of passing a repeal of Obamacare, for instance, but they will not withhold funding which is their Constitutional purview.

Remember Cromnibus? It was the omnibus funding bill in December 2014 without the Homeland Security provision, so the new GOP Congress of 2015 could require some concessions regarding border security and immigration management. Did Speaker Boehner get any concessions? No. Could anybody foretell this conclusion? There were writings all over this wall–this Redstate wall–that vomits with “I told ya so!” My dim-witted GOP Congressman voted for Cromnibus, then voted for Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) N/A% as Speaker, but wants to make sure I understand he did not like the ultimate spending bill passed this February. He can sell that to low-information voters, but not to anybody who takes the time to read this little diary entry .

We need to call our Congressmen, whether they are either complete dim-wits or just simple half-wits, and ask them to support Meadows’ resolution. Explain that there are 60+ more House Republicans today than in 2009 so they could stop Obama. Throughout his term thus far, Obama has only vetoed four pieces of legislation. GOP House members are making the job of President real easy, and Barack Obama is making his father proud.

Please read Ezra Klein’s piece on Vox, “The unexpected and ingenious strategy of Obama’s second term.”

In short, Obama just has to do stuff. And for that, we can thank Speaker Rep. John Boehner (R-OH).

I am not pulling the R lever anymore. With RINOs like Cornyn and Brady, it would just be supporting the Uni-party. Pleading about Supreme Court appointments is a moot arguement anymore...

To me, this would seem to indicate that there are either a ton of Pubbies on the take; or that Obunga, et al has a lot if dirty info on them, so that they have no choice but to leave Boner be, by ducking their heads and keeping mum.

Just because I’m paranoid is no proof that they aren’t out to get me!

Please contact your Reps. and ask that they support Meadow’s Motion.

Boehner’s Chief Policy Advisor is connected to the company selling body parts. Charlotte Spears Ivanic, Boehner’s Chief Policy Advisor, is sister to Cate Spears Dyer, the owner of StemExpress, the company in the Planned Parenthood videos.

The media has found an effective way to avoid any unpleasant political developments or challenges to their agenda. Pretend they don’t exist.

There is lots of fear and weakness in the Republican Party. Whatever the reasons are for this no longer matters. The fundamental question is why vote for people who refuse to do the jobs they were elected to do and assured us they would do? I really don’t care why they’re hiding, prevaricating, lying and running scared. They are not getting the job done and worse, they are allowing Boehner and McConnell to advance the Obama agenda.

We need to also thank Meadows for his political fortitude and willingness to stand up to Boehner and his cronies.

Fire suppression comes in many forms.

One is to smother, another is to douse the fire with a sufficient amount of water so as to reduce the temperature of the burning substance below the ignition point, still another is to cut off the supply of fuel altogether.

But if sufficient heat, fuel and oxygen can be sustained in excess quantities to overcome these limitations, the fire will burn unabated, and even grow. Vast stretches of woodland can be decimated by a single campfire.

Somebody has just struck a match.
