The Hill is a horrid site. It is full of obnoxious little boogers. Go straight to the youtube video here:

I would go along with naive thinking on that and giving the benefit of the doubt to McConnell.
I do not think that Cruz is corrupt like almost all of the GOP is. I believe Cruz is an honest man, which is the reason I support him.
Is giving the benefit of the doubt to a dishonest corrupt man naive and a mistake? Yes. Without a doubt. He was made a fool of by doing this. Hopefully he has learned.
I have often found myself perplexed over various Republicans saying I take Obama at his word.
You take a dishonorable, dishonest, known liar and demagogue at his word? Well you are either naive or corrupt.
Then these same Republicans continue to take Obama at his word even after being made fools of repeatedly. They are obviously not naive. They know who they are dealing with, thus dealing with the corrupt makes them corrupt.
Cruz has taken the right step here in outing the liar McConnell publicly instead of continuing to allow himself to be lied to.
This shows me he is not corrupt, and that important to me. I can deal with naive. I cannot and will not deal with corrupt.
Agree completely. You have to take everyone at face value - once. If you know their history, then you don’t.
McConnell’s corrupt and he knows it. That he went along with the TPA vote wasn’t technically naïve either, to be fair about your original point.
What Cruz is pissed about is that he can’t even keep a deal. Cruz was looking at half a loaf, thinking that in the hands of the right guy, TPA could really be helpful.
He votes for it, thinking he got the better end of his original deal by extracting a promise from McConnell on the vote. McConnell welched.
This marked the end of Cruz trying to work within the system.
“Cruz in not yet Presidential material.”
LMAO!
Okay, Baldy..... Let me know of another candidate more conservative than Cruz. And please save yourself the embarrassment here of saying that Trump is.
and you can get his book "A Time For Truth" there too.
It's a MUST-READ.
Generally speaking, I support TPA in the hand of an honest individual who loves Americans and America.
That does not describe our president at all, so on the bases of our America and American hating preezy, I objected to TPA at this time.
It was my hope that Cruz would see things similarly, but alas he did not. That is regrettable.
However, even considering that, I choose to continue to support Cruz. I still believe he is honest. When I listen to him speak, I hear his honesty. I value that.
Ted, hopefully you have learned that right now in your position in Washington, you are in a den of snakes, and they are all poisonous.
Trust no one, let no one stand at your back.
He is saying that he has tried believing the best in the leadership and realizes it is a fool’s errand.
No one said he wasn’t conservative.
I asserted, and gave evidence that he isn’t wise enough.
Throwing off the advice of his own, loyal, staff, he cast votes based on what everyone, except apparently him, knew was a lie.
Now he want us to believe that he was doing the right thing, but McConnell was/is the bad guy?
Do we really want someone who can be so easily hoodwinked by a fellow American, of the same political party, negotiating deals with enemies? The likes of Putin? Iran, China, Japan?
Cruz is a good man, a very good man, but today on Rush he reveled what a lot of us knew for a long time; he is an innocent in the world of wolves.
Remember the old saying “Once bitten twice shy” i’m totally good with Cruz.
Everyone knew that years ago, even his loyal staff who tried to tell him.
Obviously, he rejected their advice, and followed the liar instead.
He supported everyone trying to build in liberal cities.
go walk in Ted Cruz’s shoes for a month, and get back to us about what you “might” have done ...
uhhh....that nice Greek horse that showed up at Troy is a better analogy for those Republican politicians who get elected by all kinds of nice promises, and look inside, they vote and we’re screwed.
Per your tag line,i’d give second thoughts to your 100% sealed border as Trump changed it to strategic placement for the border wall.......
Make the arrangements, I promise to get back to you in a month with a candid, honest, answer.
Looks like two horses showed up, and we Conservative citizens of Troy should know better.
The subject at hand is Cruz, and my assertion of his lack of wisdom.
I’ve made a strong argument supporting that assertion.
Breaking: McConell is going to fast track bill to defund Planned Parenthood-Whoa that was fast....
It appears you are in a learning curve at this time, there was a time when I believed Bohner and McConnell where honorable men.
