I think she’s right. The whole country is walking on eggshells thanks to liberals being displaced by leftists who have some sort of a psychological addiction problem. If you look at it, it’s a bit like alcoholism. There seems to be a sort of spiritual hole/misery, they blame everyone but themselves and make up “rules” which they change at a whim of how everyone else is supposed to treat them, which results in the rest of the country becoming the abused spouse and kids walking on eggshells to try to prevent the next outburst.

I think a large part of the country is sick of following the dictates of people who have clearly lost their way, and the GOPe losers who are right there in the bar with them, buying the next round!

Trump is no conservative, but Trump is his own man, and make no mistake, that is the bedrock foundation the rest of them are missing.

I think there is a real question about the Senate especially. We have McConnell and Boehner to thank.

So she’s finally done cheerleading for that other “conservative” Romney?

"I promise you Jeb or Rubio are going to lead to a Hillary presidency or Rick Perry."

Ann is right. Rick and Jeb guarantee Hillary wins. Rubio might make it closer but he'd still lose because of the usual Dem election shenanigans.

The no-info/low-info vote plus the "crazies" would result in a landslide for Trump.

Very well thought out post. I think you are right that Trump’s greatest appeal is that he is his own man. He has proved that by his comments, not letting the PC crowd bully him and not letting the shakedown artists sway him with their financial hits. He shakes it off and keeps saying what needs to be said.

He won a lot of grateful voters by his stance on illegal immigration and they are a loyal bunch.

“The GOP will exist merely to provide a “show” for the Media and as token opposition to whomever the Democrat Party installs as “President.”

Along the lines of how on Fox News shows like ‘The Five’ they have the token libtard, but in the future, the rolls will be reversed. The Five will consists of 4 solid Uniparty members, and Ailles will be sure there is a token conservative. He’ll hire someone like Linda Graham to be the conservative voice, LOL!

Coulter said she was done with Christie when she saw Christie burst into tears upon meeting Bruce Springsteen.

“...someone with serious prospects will be persuaded to run.”

Who? The Democrat back bench is a lot emptier than ours.

Coulter’s right. IMO only Trump or Cruz have a chance to win a general election. Trump has the best chance. He is the only person who will just come out and attack her and call her sad and pathetic and really slam the woman. If you want Hillary Clinton gone you will have to literally blow her off the stage.

These careful nicey nice guys like Walker and Bush will lose in a landslide.

I’m really tired of “This country was founded by immigrants”. Immigrants have a political view but fewer and fewer foreigners seem to have views that line up with Christian Republicans.

I mentioned the “drafting” of Wilkie in 1940, precisely to meet your point. There are probably scores of articulate Democrats in the private arena, who could be drafted and funded to emerge from obscurity. It is a myth that people need to campaign for a year to have a chance.

If you have to go back to 1940, before the impact of television on campaigns (and on the public), then I’m not sure it’s a relevant example.

Some Dems are actually seriously trying to draft Biden into running. That would never even be considered if there were really better prospects around.

Your point is really off the mark. The availability of television makes it infinitely easier for a newcomer to charge onto the scene effectively. One of the points I tried to make after Rove mismanaged the Bush campaign in 2000 was his idiotic failure not to use TV effectively. He had an opportunity of a generation, when the Democrats in the media raised the Bush DUI issue the weekend before the election, to have Bush address a huge TV audience on election eve, but he had not reserved the time.

The audience would have been huge, because would be Democrats would have tuned in to watch Bush squirm. The obvious strategy--if Rove had any analytic ability--would have been 20 seconds for Bush to admit that in his early 20s he made some mistakes--and then speak for the next 28 minutes 40 seconds on a high sounding exposition of an appealing vision for the future.

A rich old man once told me you should go make your own fortune before thinking about politics. Otherwise you’ll get the rug ripped out from under you, or you will become a political whore, or you’ll become a political whore with the rug ripped out from under you.

Good link, with a lot of food for thought. I don’t think any ticket but a Trump/Cruz combo could win.
