LOL love the photo!

'As stewards of these riches which we have received, we have an obligation toward society as a whole and toward future generations,' Francis said. 'We cannot bequeath this heritage to them without proper care for the environment, without a sense of gratuitousness born of our contemplation of the created world.' His call was particularly relevant for Ecuador, a Pacific nation that is home to one of the world's most species-diverse ecosystems but which is also an OPEC country heavily dependent on oil extraction. 'The goods of the Earth are meant for everyone, and however much someone may parade his property, it has a social mortgage,' Francis said.

I, too, am a practicing Catholic. I shudder to think of any theological message Pope Francis might offer.

As to the other naysayers on this thread attacking Catholics....I follow Jesus first and foremost. Don't we all?

I doubt people here think Catholics are being represented by big daddy.

Many denominational leaders have lost their way, careening the rest of the organization into a ditch. Who’s to say the Roman papacy is any different?

Well the cardinals really screw the pooch when they elected Francis as Pope. This guy is a Social justice heretic whose ideas about Christianity were invented by the KGB. Is there any way to impeach or retire a heretic Pope?

For a second there I thought he was talking about the vast wealth locked up in the Vatican.

Silly me.

We have survived popes who were much worse. God will reclaim his church from this pope and it will continue. I have no fear about that. None.

You ever notice that most people that quote that are more concerned about getting the rich man money.. and miss Jesus saying “follow me”

Really if Jesus said "burn your money" or "forget your money" and "follow me" .. would it change the really point of message?

But 99 out of 100 site that passage with their eyes following the money and eyes not following Christ.....

Impeach? No. Retire? Maybe. He can retire or be retired.

My 93yo MIL swears God will take him before he can officially lead the church into a formal error. His ramblings are just that at the moment. Should that change, well, good luck to him in the hereafter.

Alioto could be Francis’ daughter.

I have no doubt the resilient and biblical Roman Catholics will survive this storm.

The question is how many will be left, and how much pain will be endured should Francis wield socialist power to force radical changes in church doctrine.

A relevant point.

I just thought it was interesting that some were upset about what the Pope said, when it is arguably a restating of Christ’s words.

Though Christ never tried to get Emperor Tiberius to force his prescription on everybody.

LOL It’s tough enough being Alioto’sp daughter.

Thanks for the link to the Breitbart piece.

I was wondering who these so called Knights were, never having heard of them before.

Now I know the rest of the story...
