This annoys me as well.
I liken it to saying; “Have a Merry 25th of December!”
Kinda leaves out the reason for the holiday.

Turkey Day is the liberals attempt to cleanse Thanksgiving of any religious connotation. The word thanksgiving is a religious term. Just as the liberals have sought to cleanse Christmas so they are trying to do to Thanksgiving as well.

Hai - yep, lots of friends and family. WX too hot and area too dry for fireworks but there were some across Hood Canal we watched.
Sounds like a good time.
I went over to a long-time friend’s house for a BBQ; had a ridiculous amount of fireworks that I haven’t seen since age 14 or so, maybe even earlier. The PD was called twice, but the two of us plus some of his friends were able to finish off everything. What made it better was that everybody that was watching cheered after they left both times. It made me smile and warmed my heart.

Independence day is by far my favorite Holiday, it is also my birthday.
I will always say my birthday is “Independance day 1963” so people always say,”oh, thats the 4th of July.”and I say yes, “I am Yankee Doodle Dandy!” If they look at me funny, I sing the song. It’s important to always keep people wondering IMHO.
It certainly was. The last time I got to do that was 4 years ago. This time there was at least double the amount, if not more. I’m hoping the ban will be reversed (but I won’t hold my breath) so I don’t have to worry.
They mean well. Most of them.
