I’ve also plumbed the condensate from my full-house A/C to plants that need it during Florida’s dry season. :)

That too is illegal to code in Memphis. All condensates must be plumbed into the sanitary sewer stack line. The idea is to avoid mosquitoes and termites around dwellings.
Once the green final approval sticker goes on though, one can do as they please unless a complaint is filed or you have to pull a permit for something else.
A whole house A/C system puts off at least 30 gallons a day in the real hot / humid periods of use.
