Microsoft will sponsor Dale Earnhardt Jr. for two upcoming races this season, including Sunday's road-course race at Sonoma Raceway, as part of a technology partnership with Hendrick Motorsports.

NASCAR and Hendrick Motorsports are perpetual innovators in motorsports, Steve Guggenheimer, a Microsoft vice president, said in a news release. This sport demands constant innovation, to have its boundaries pushed, so that the sport delivers the exciting experiences expected by fans."
NASCAR's 12-time most popular driver will also don the Microsoft colors for the Aug. 2 race at Pocono.
Im a big technology user and really enjoy Microsoft products, Earnhardt said in a release. Kicking off the Hendrick Motorsports relationship with Windows 10 is a unique opportunity, and theres no doubt our ongoing technical partnership will help us raise the bar in many areas. Its great to see Microsoft is having such a positive experience with NASCAR and wants to do more across the sport. Were excited to be a part of that.
That's gonna make the Linux Lunatics blow a gasket.
Time has passed us by. Girlfriend. What happened to commitment first.
Yup, We’ve gone from “Old School” to “Prehistoric School” BTW has anybody seen My Cane ?
Well let's see if Mama can get and Gossip from across the street on this one...
Harvick first driver since 2001 to lead 1,200 laps after 15 races: In Sunday's Quicken Loans 400 at Michigan International Raceway, #4-Kevin Harvick became the first driver since Jeff Gordon in 2001 to eclipse 1,200 laps led 15 races into a season. Harvick only has two wins, but his robust loop data numbers suggest more are coming. The #4 Chevy driver ranks first in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in average running position (7.3), number of fastest laps (755), laps led (1,225) and driver rating (126.0). Harvick's number of fastest laps are nearly triple the next-best driver's total (Kurt Busch, 277). His number of laps led are nearly double the next-best driver's total (Kurt Busch, 665). Harvick is on pace to shatter the driver rating record of 112.2 set by Jimmie Johnson is his 2009 championship season. The only caveat when comparing Harvick's driver rating statistic is that it could drop with two restrictor plate and two road course races left on the schedule.(NASCAR)(6-20-2015)
Folds of Honor scheme for Harvick at Sonoma: During the Toyota/SaveMart 400 race at Sonoma Raceway in June, Kevin Harvick will be swapping paint on his #4 Chevy. For one race only, Harvick's race car will feature a special "Folds of Honor" paint scheme designed to raise awareness and support for the families of our nation's brave servicemen and women.(Lionel Racing), see image of the scheme on the #4 Team Schemes page.(6-22-2015)
Danica up for a Nickelodeon Kids Choice Sports Award: #10-Danica Patrick has been nominated for Best Female Athlete in the 2015 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Sports Awards. Voting takes place through July 9th at nick.com.(6-23-2015)
Kurt Busch to be inducted into Southern Nevada Sports Hall of Fame: #41-Kurt Busch will be inducted into the Southern Nevada Sports Hall of Fame on Friday at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas while being surrounded by family and friends in the city where he grew up. The ceremony comes five days after the Durango High School graduate won his second race of the NASCAR Sprint Cup season, claiming the rain-shortened event Sunday at Michigan International Speedway. "This year has been so rewarding," said Busch, who is driving the #41 Chevy for Stewart-Haas Racing. "I've been executing well with my race preparation and forecasting well what's going to happen during the race." Busch will be joined by boxer Mike Tyson, former NFL quarterback Glenn Carano, golf pro Joe Kelly and rodeo coach Ric Griffith as members of the Class of 2015. Busch has won 27 times in NASCAR's elite division and ranks No. 26 on the all-time victory list. Two spots ahead of him is his younger brother Kyle, who has 29 victories.(Las Vegas Review Journal)(6-18-2015)
Sad News - Jim Vandiver: Jim Vandiver, 75, of Huntersville died Thursday at a hospital in his native Charlotte, NC. He had been admitted Monday complaining of chest pains. The Vandivers made it to the big-time NASCAR tour for one race in 1968 and then appeared sporadically on it through 1983. Jim Vandiver compiled 85 starts on what now is the Sprint Cup circuit, posting five top-five finishes and 14 more in the top 10. His best finish, second, came in the inaugural Talladega 500 on Sept. 14, 1969, a date notorious in NASCAR history. The sanctioning body's top stars boycotted the event at the superfast 2.66-mile track, then known as Alabama International Motor Speedway, mainly out of concern that tires were unsafe for a scorching pace of almost 200 mph. Big Bill France, founder of both NASCAR and the facility now called Talladega Superspeedway, cobbled together a field of drivers and cars from other divisions and the show went on. Vandiver was among the drivers agreeing to race, taking over a Dodge fielded by Ray Fox. A funeral is scheduled at 4 p.m. Monday at Huntersville United Methodist Church with a viewing at 3:30. A reception is to follow at the Pearl Wedding and Events Center in Cornelius at 5:30. A private burial will be held at Northlake Memorial Gardens.(Charlotte Observer)(6-19-2015)
Services: The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday, June 22nd, at Jim's church of over 40 years, Huntersville United Methodist Church with a viewing at 3:30 p.m. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jim's life, as he requested, with a party afterwards at The Pearl Wedding and Events Center in Cornelius at 5:30 p.m. A private burial will be held at Northlake Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Huntersville United Methodist Church. James Funeral Home is serving the family. See full obituary at the Charlotte Observer.(6-20-2015)

Between 1968 and 1973, Jabe finished in the top twelve national points each year, with a 6th place ranking in 1971. Always a fun loving driver, Jabe never hesitated to allow others to drive his car. In 1970, two of Richard Petty's 200 career wins came in Jabe's Plymouth. Others to drive Jabe's cars included Ned Jarrett, Bobby Allison, Wendell Scott, Cale Yarbrough, Charlie Glotzbach and Pedro Rodriques. We're looking forward to the next solutions that we can deploy with both NASCAR and Hendrick Motorsports to push each of our organizations forward."

"Kicking off the Hendrick Motorsports relationship with Windows 10 is a unique opportunity, and there's no doubt our ongoing technical partnership will help us raise the bar in many areas. It's great to see Microsoft is having such a positive experience with NASCAR and wants to do more across the sport. We're excited to be a part of that."(HMS), see image of the scheme on the #88 Team Schemes page.(6-22-2015)
Time out, Rodent hand worn out, Eyes hurt. Be back later.
“Who cares. Since NASCAR became politically correct. And joined the attack on the Confederate Flag.”
NASCAR needs to move to the north. It isn’t welcome in the South since it thinks all things Southern are somehow racist.
