Saying Dixie and Dixieland will soon be the same as the “N” word.

I’ve loved “Wolverton Mountain” ever since I first heard it in grade school, back in Dinwiddie County, Virginia.

My Grandson just won the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award as a senior in High School.
Love of his jazz band is as great as the Marching Band or school band...
He is off to college and Naval ROTC this month, Stradivarius (SP?) trumpet carefully packed too.

Well, Daniel Emmett, the Ohioan who wrote it said, “If I had known to what use they [Southerners] were going to put my song, I will be damned if I’d have written it.”

As long as there is a city named New Orleans, Louisiana There will be Dixieland Music.
I'd bet on it.

Heard during a headline news break tonight on TV that a school in Ft. Smith, AR is no longer allowing the song Dixie to be played at school functions anymore.

This is turning into a massive progressive/Lib purge of anything and everything related to the confederate period of American history.
