The weariness, the rage, the depressing conviction that black life is stuck in a murderous loop fueled by racism—these emotions resounded in black America after the deadly shootings at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina.
Nine people who had gathered to pray in one of the main sanctuaries of black life—the church—were slain.
This, following a string of black men killed after coming into contact with police officers in cities across America and racist actions on campuses. Even though African-Americans are long accustomed to dealing with difficulty where their race is concerned, the confluence of events appeared to be taking a toll.
“We really are a people who are suffering from racial battle fatigue,” political essayist and commentator Chauncey DeVega said Thursday. …

Charleston is a special case, a nut mass murderer who happens to be white. But, he might have been excited in this particular way in part by the enhanced level of racial animosity fostered under this Administration. Then again, he might have gone off in this way, or in a different way, in more harmonious times.
Of all the places to commit a white-on-black massacre, a church is the worst. People at a Christian bible group are innocent. Why didn't Mr. Tough Guy Storm go nuts at a Black Panthers meeting? Because he's a coward as well as crazy.
Yeah, well join the party pals. White have been feeling fatigued over the incredible amount of black violence by the urban feral predators for a long time now.

Don’t think he would have been able to sit in for long at a Black Panthers’ meeting. But I agree he would not/did not have the nerve to to attack those deserving black racists.
There are twice as many blacks murdered by whites than the other way around. This in spite of the fact that the young black men who commit these murders make up less than 3% of the population.
How would you find a Black Panther meeting? What are there, maybe 200 in the whole country?
