Thanks JT. Comradery and food go hand in hand. It could be called a religious experience at times. Most do not enjoy the experience as a ‘loner’. Who would choose to eat alone? To break bread with another is the ultimate seal of friendship.

Sorry for the VERY late reply - but I wanted to let you know I tried your yogurt recipe a few days ago. It is the best and easiest yogurt ever - and doesn’t need any fancy equipment or anything!
And the KA sourdough, I am working on. It turned out great (made it 2x so far). The bread was light yet textured like a sourdough should. It just wasn’t tangy enough for me - so it’s probably my starter. Or I should ‘cheat’ with some citric acid.
Anyway, I was looking for you on the last 2 cooking threads to tell you, but had to look up this old thread to find you!
So happy to hear your yogurt endeavor was a success. Hazzah. I find the longer the sourdough is refrigerated the rangier the taste. Heck, one time due to schedules and such it sat for almost 2 days. None the worst for it. I am still waiting for my bread to be airy... ha ha. Its good but heavy texture. Due to hot summer weather here in good ol SoCal, my baking days are on hold. Starter in the fridge waiting for cooler weather. One day closer to winter, is my mantra. Please do keep in touch. As for adding citric acid, give a try and let me know. I’m stubborn and want to do it the hard way. :))
I hear ya on the weather there. I’m not missing it! even with the humidity here, it isn’t as hard to take as Bakersfield weather. Our highs are almost 90 though. In Texas, it was bear 100 - now that was miserable with the humidity. So... something to be grateful for! Do your nights cool off?
Yes, heavenly so. I am at about 3000 ft elevation. So nights drop into the 60s even on the hottest days our nights are cool. And that lovely sundown breeze picks up too. In summer my mantra is...one day closer to winter. And on the hot humid summer days...hurry sundown. Today was in the low 70s as we are having monsoonal weather AND a hurricane off Baja. Kinda a double whammy, but blessed cool and RAIN. Rained all day. Cool rain, welcome rain, soaking rain. Yay, for ourside.
