No need to head to the multiplex for big action, special effects and hair-raising thrills, says bestselling author James Patterson, when the CBS adaptation of his novel, "Zoo," promises all that and rampaging wildlife, to boot.
"It should give the summer movies a run for their money," said Patterson, a populist literary star perhaps best known for his Alex Cross franchise, less so for being understated. "There's horror, sci-fi, suspense. It's kind of James Patterson meets Stephen King meets Michael Crichton. It's a scary fable."

Patterson’s the rare author who donates to the GOP:

The series sounds stupid.
My wife liked him. I tried two of the Alex Cross novels, finished the first but couldn’t get through the second. Not a fan.
I read this......
It’s has an unusual premise .....could be a scary, summer type thriller/ miniseries.
I will probably tune in initially.......
....it’s an unusual storyline......maybe worth watching.
The book, “ZOO” was not bad, but pretty far-fetched and strongly hinted at eco-environmental corruption...
meaningless that he donates to the GOP, really
Yup. Rubbish.
With a crazed Leslie Nielsen taking on an attacking bear.
Linda Day George was smokin’, as usual.
That’s the one.
Zoo is the only Patterson book I’ve read.....interesting idea for a story, but I thought it was rather boring. Not at all a memorable read.
The only part that stood out for me was the guy going back to his African hunting lodge and finding everyone else gone, with only a bunch of bloody rags strewn around. He heard a sound, turned around, and the tall grass was filled with lions, looking right at him.
Other than that, bupkis.
“Stupidest” book ever! Wildly improbable story line. I hated it, and I’m a Patterson fan. He must have been desperately in need of cash! It was just a really dumb book!
okay, call me a a wuss if ya want to, but I just see this as giving people who hate animals a reason to kill.
Before you call me an animal activist, nope. I hunt, fish, but hurt my dog, and I’ll unleash a version of hell nobody has seen since Nam.
My suspicion is that his recent books are as much his own as the paintings of Thomas Kincaid were his.
