Netflix is cooking up Green Eggs and Ham with help from the estate of Dr. Seuss, executive producer Ellen DeGeneres and Warner Bros. TV Group.
A 13-episode animated TV series will be adapted from the classic 1960 childrens book, continuing the adventures of some of its characters. Cindy Holland, Netflixs VP of original content, channeled Dr. Seuss famous meter in announcing the deal:

Oh Brother. I was looking forward to this until I saw that.
Let’s just take a wild guess....Dr. Seuss will introduce a star athlete and then follow him through the years of transition.
Has Ellen undergone her addadidicktome operation?
I’m waiting for the first marriage between a man who transitioned into a woman and a woman who transitioned into a man.
I’m sure they’ll do a TV movie about it. They’ll also find a Christian baker who won’t bake them a cake and then they’ll sue them into bankruptcy to pay for their honeymoon.
A modern love story.
Let us collective hold our breaths hoping that Netflix can produce a version of Green Eggs & Ham without dramatically altering the storybook. Such unwanted alterations would include adding obviously gay characters, or taking the eggs out, opting instead for vegan friendly tofu, taking the ham out, opt instead for a more ‘halal’ mutton.
That would be “No Eggs or Ham”.
I’d play the Powerball first. The odds are better.
My Granddaughter (2yo) will be excited. She loves Dr. Seuss the way I over dramatize the stories. Green Eggs and Ham got her to try all kinds of veggies and other food she had avoided without tasting when she was 1 1/2 yo.
“Im waiting for the first marriage between a man who transitioned into a woman and a woman who transitioned.”
That ain’t nothin! A friend of a friend was telling me about his Muslim neighbor who married a goat, but is now seeking power of attorney over the goat since it (she) wants to transition into a sheep, but they’re worried about the kids.
I will not watch Green Eggs and Ham.
I will not watch it here or there
I will not watch it in the air.
What about Bruce? Has he had a frontal lopitoffame yet?
Your adaptation is better than theirs.
I would not read him to my kids.
I would not let them watch his vids.
I never liked that commie Seuss.
I wish his use would be reduced.
She turned her almost first “wife” ( Anne Heche ) back to men.
Netflix has really been bringing out ‘original’ series this year.
The trouble is, more recently they seem to be going for quantity rather than quality.
They are, however, starting to become competitive with the networks and cable channels.
I like that they put all episodes of a series online at once. That way, I can binge watch.
No-one is all bad.
Sounds like the elevator pitch for a new sitcom.
