RIP Marcel
He was a fantastic player
Years ago I used to play the Playstation version of NHL. Marcel was one of the "classic" characters I created. He received very high attributes and was on my 2nd All-Star team.

Yeah, it was. I do not mind the current NHL divisions, but, man, the original 6? That was some intense hockey. I was very young at that time, but growing up near Detroit, and Canada, provided some fantastic NHL memories.

They should revert to the legacy Division and Conference names.

since the Isles were knocked out of round 1 tonight...

Pardon my lack of knowledge, but what does the teen fantasy film “Ferris Bueller” have to do with the passing of an NHL great?

My dad and I used to watch the 'Wings on our old B&W set with a super tall antenna aimed at Detroit for the games most nights in the Winter.
Michigan winters were made more tolerable (despite Jimmy Buffett) because of the Red Wings. That would be: '50, '52, '54-'55. Good times, bonding with Dad.

Being a life long Ranger fan I was hoping for a Ranger-Islander series.
Kudos to the Crapitals, it looks like they finally learned some defense. This should be a good series.

The days of the old 6 team league were great, were they not?The beginning of expansion did it for me. That's about when I stopped watching. I still say that if you live in a city where people can't have a rink in their backyard during the winter (because of the balmy weather), you don't get a hockey team.
RIP, Marcel Pronovost. It was not just a coincidence that he played on 5 Stanley winners. He was an excellent hockey player.
