Sperm bank sued after donor details emerge 7 years later

He was good on paper: Eloquent, mature, healthy and smart to boot.

That's why Angela Collins and Margaret Elizabeth Hanson say they chose Donor 9623 to be the biological father of their child.

Then last June, almost seven years after Collins gave birth to a son conceived with his sperm, they got a batch of emails from the sperm bank that unexpectedly — and perhaps mistakenly — included the donor's name. That set them on a sleuthing mission that quickly revealed he is schizophrenic, dropped out of college and had been arrested for burglary, they said in a lawsuit filed March 31 in Atlanta.

So these lesbians admit that they are schizophobes?

Hateful bigots.

I am sure they are dead set against conversion therapy and all forms of mental health treatment for this.

Best comment on the article at the site: “These two geniuses never stopped to ask themselves why this paragon of manhood was masturbating into a cup for a few bucks.”

In fairness, the alter-ego that donated probably was all of those things.

That’s the great thing about the low tech method of insemination. It allows the mother to screen the donor for behavioral and mental characteristics.

But, the “low tech” method of insemination requires the mother to have some sort of relationship with a man. In this case, these are “lesbian” females who could never consider doing such a thing..................

This reminds me a bit of the case of “lesbian” females, who were white, and got sperm from a black man from a sperm bank. So their daughter is half black, which concerned the lesbians, as they were raising her in a mostly white town in Ohio.

I can just imagine that girl, as she grows up, learning that she was unwanted due to her racial/ethnic background.

...say they chose Donor 9623 to be the biological father..

The bad news is there is at least 9622 other losers out there.

What kind of a man allows his sons to be raised by lesbians?

Artificial insemination is a really good aspect of veterinary medicine, but should be banned for humans. Real respect for children should preclude breeding them via veterinary methods.

There really is no substitute for kicking the proverbial tires in person, sorry but you never know what you are getting if you don’t “know” what you’re getting ;)

Once upon a time, Sperm Banks were mainly for childless married couples where the man had trouble producing viable sperm and they tried their best to match up with a donor with similar characteristics.

They weren't intended to be for Lesbians who wanted to mate with turkey basters.

There are therapies which can help men with low sperm counts successfully impregnate their wives. Anything that assists marital intercourse in achieving its procreative potential is a good thing.

The practice of being impregnated by another man, however, is basically out-of-wedlock reproduction. This is true even though the child's legal parents (one of whom is not his biological parent) are married. It is introducing a nonmarital reproductive partner into the mix. It violates the natural (genetic) father's bond to his own child, and is planned, set up to do that deliberately as a means to an end.

The "end" is great (having a baby) but the means chosen is morally problematic.

“Artificial insemination is a really good aspect of veterinary medicine, but should be banned for humans.”

Where in the article does it say that humans
ordered the procedure?
