Son of a gun! Athletes and their managers talking smack, who da thunk it. I wonder where the outrage was when all the Hispanic guys on construction sites talked crap about Anglos when I was working? Oh that’s right we weren’t a bunch of crying little wankers.

Spain has an excellent reputation in European basketball and their national team can stay with the USA team if we play by FIBA rules. That's why a number of Spanish players have become successful in the NBA.

Since Gasol is from Barcelona, being called Spanish must have really cut deep. Whatever anyone does, do not call Spaniards, Basques, Catalans,as Hispanics. Take a look at Xavi Alonso, Sergio Ramos, or David DeGea, do they look anything like David Ortiz or Fernando Valenzuela, no they do not.

A Catalan would get even more upset if you called them a “Spaniard.”

Indeed they do. I’m a season ticket holder and I was at the game last night. The Grizz manhandled Portland. It was an awesome wire to wire win.
