Not for me — I’m a PC fan. Friar for life.

We Bostonians secretly love PC, a bunch of our kids went/go there.
It is mini BC!

Except unlike BC, PC does a really good job maintaining traditional Catholic values.

Nay Nay I say. They both suck at traditional Catholic Practices. BC is more “in your face” about it. Jesuits suck.

PC gave us Billy Donovan, so I’m grateful to them for that.

Why was PC removed from the Newman guide?

The vast majority of Catholic colleges are not on the Newman Guide list. And the vast majority of the colleges on the Newman list are academic lightweights. Providence College is fairly conservative with impressive academics.

PC is a wonderful school that upholds Catholic teaching. It is not a Jesuit school. It is run by the Dominican Friars. Both my wife and I went there and there and follow the goings on very closely. A few years ago, the school almost kicked a group of girls out of the school for hosting a pro-choice group meeting. They disbanded the group. We attend mass in a neighboring town and the Head Friars that run the school are frequently guest priests in our churches. Their homilies are very traditional and of pure doctrine. Dr. Anthony Esolen is a Professor of English at the school and writes for Crisis Magazine among other publications. Read some of his articles and books. Very Conservative. Very Catholic. Go PC. One of the good ones.

Providence wins the hockey championship and finishes runner up in soccer. Good job. Better chain down your athletic director.

My children went there. It is my adopted college. Father Shanely is awesome. And yes, the Dominicans are a dfferent breed.

My sister went to PC and loved it. My daughter graduates from a Dominican HS, Mount De Sales (Baltimore), this spring. I remember 4 years ago PC was on the list but now they’re not. Just wondering why?

BTW, some Newman schools are breaking out of the
“light weight” stereotype. Franciscan’s SAT’s go up every year. I am also betting on Ave Maria in Florida.

Eichel played well...unfortunate goaltending lapses for BU caused them the championship. Hopeful Eichel sticks around for another year, probably won’t happen......

Sabres finished in last place. Because of the draft lottery, they have a 20% chance of the first overall. Everyone assumes Connor McDavid will go number one, so it is figured that the Sabres have a 20% chance at McDavid, and an 80% at number two, which would be Eichel (assuming he comes out).

Sawree. My Dad was a Brown Grad and I have a bazillion relatives that went to PC, URI, Rosemont ? they were all over…I forget.
I went to a Jesuit school on the West Coast. Loved it, but no so much of a fan of Jesuit Schools for a reason. You are absolutely on spot with the Friars, my humble apologies.
