Furious 7 Movie: I know nothing about Race Cars, but I enjoyed this movie immensely! How about you?

I'm glad I went to see this movie. I almost didn't. I usually prefer movies with a more coherent storyline and message. I like dialog that is clear, cogent and concise. I approve of special effects that are both sublime and based in reality. I expect to see a straight line of cause and effect to some degree. Furious 7 is none of those things. The premise is illogical, where a no longer needed British spy 'Deckart Shaw' goes rogue and seeks revenge against Dominic Toretto and his gang family for the death of his brother, a well known criminal.

I was in the mood for a complete distraction from everyday life, and this movie filled the void to excess. There were special effects galore, along with some fantastic stunt driving. I recall seeing groups of jeeps leaping over a rocky ravine. Jumping in unison like a pack of hungry wolves. I recall the spectacular sense of when the Gang decided to remove a car off of a top floor of a skyscraper. They could'nt use the car elevators, so they drove it THROUGH the glass window, sailing through the air like a flying squirrel, only to crash through the windows of the next TWO glass towers. Of course it was impossible, but damn, was it ever entertaining! The movie made an effort to balance all this brutal accelerated strength with many light touches of both humor and romance. Michelle Rodriquez, the hispanic woman who plays Dominic's amnesia-stricken wife (who also races cars, and clocks a man with a mean right hook) is a good actress. I like her voice, the way she inhabits her character, and would like to see more of her.

I did not see any of the previous Furious movies, but in my opinion, the franchise will survive just fine without Paul Walker. He was good, and fun, but not essential to the plot. You know what really surprised me? To see Kurt Russell in this movie. Yes, Kurt Russell, former Disney child star and Goldie Hawn's man for the last 30 years. Kurt played "Mr Nobody", a government liason. He provided a good balance to the ranchy wildness that made up most of this little world.

I wanna see it. Have heard a fair amount anecdotally that it’s pretty fun. Don’t know much about cars either but may be worth a watch.

If you see the movie, don’t purchase a Big Gulp. The movie is over two hours in length. The two fellows in my row kept going back and forth, back and forth, to where I just moved up one row to be rid of their distractions.

You should watch the rest of them, too. Fun stuff. Entirely impossible, but one helluva ride!

Usually it would take me several shrooms to have this much incite into a dang movie.

Yeah like pulling the front wheels on regular asphalt with cold tires.

There was some expert Kung Fu fighting going on too, both girls and boys of all races were ready to ‘Sock It To You!”
The fight scenes were made more dramatic by the jagged sequencing, the grainy textures and quickly changing visual perspectives. These details along with diagonal shots were similar to what I used to see in comic books, changing from frame to frame in the storyboard.
This is somewhat similar to the Men In Black series.

BS CGI stuff. Make a chase scene like Bullitt or the French Connection and I’ll watch.

I imagine the set consisting of cars on bouncy platforms in front of green screens.

Lol. That GIF woulda been even better if, before the car he's driving came to a stop, they switched to a scene of the accident that killed him. Moral? Keep yer dammed eyes on the road while driving! Lol. Or...is it just me? Too soon?

8 Reasons the ‘Fast and Furious’ Franchise Is Good for America

Pop culture matters … a lot. In fact, pop culture is everything. Movies, of course, are the ultimate in pop culture — a combination of almost every known art form turned into a powerful fury of sound and image that impact everything from t-shirt sales to politics to how we see ourselves as men, women and Americans.

Some movies damage our culture. Some have no discernible impact. Some have a positive impact.

The “Fast and Furious” series stands as one of the biggest and most popular in the country and world. Seven chapters in, the cars-girls-muscle franchise is more popular than it’s ever been, and here are eight reasons why that’s good news for America:

  1. From Outlaws to Heroes
  2. A Colorblind America
  3. Faith In God
  4. Family
  5. Freedom, Individuality, and Being Your Own Man
  6. Fun, Fun, Fun
  7. Masculinity and Femininity
  8. Redemption
8 1/2. Cars
Ride or die.

Don't forget the big finale in "The Blues Brothers." Lotsa mid-70s Mopars got piled up in that one.

The Bullitt chase is funny, if you watch it closely. You keep seeing the same two cars driving by veeeerrrry slooooooowwly. A VW Bug and a Pontiac.

People don’t know how to go to the movies anymore.

We have a very fancy theater here - you reserve your seat for the movie, the seats recline. Really, you gotta sit your behind down for the movie or you are making people move those recliners in the middle of the movie. How rude is that.

We went to see the last Hobbit movie in that theater. I was so disappointed after the movie to see how much trash and destruction people did during the movie. We really have lost any sense of decorum in this nation.
