U.S. Marshals picked up Song Wang in Siskiyou County, CA, close to the Oregon border...Police said Wang, 30, stabbed 37-year-old Kittaporn Saosawatsri to death inside her Seattle-area apartment on March 31...He then set fire to the sixth-floor unit...in downtown Bellevue to cover up the crime and fled the scene...

The apartment complex is built on top of one of the largest, newest, and nicest Safeway stores in America.
Many of the residents there are single women.
We average about 1 murder per year in Bellevue, population 135,000, directly east across Lake Washington from downtown Seattle.
Almost all our murders are domestic violence related.
From the first day, it was clear this was not domestic.
As details come out, the case gets more interesting.
The victim was from Thailand, and she has an arrest record for human trafficking of young girls from Thailand and for pimping.
The murderer was not recognized by anyone at the apartment complex, and local Police report he had been threatened by "people" because of unpaid debts.
We have some really strange murders here.
(1) An illegal Korean immigrant murdered his nephew, then assumed his identity.
(2) A Microsoft contract employee blew up his apartment cooking hash oil. During the fire evacuation an elderly woman, a former Bellevue mayor, fell down the stairs, broke her hip, and died a few weeks later.
(3) A Russian woman in a child custody battle parked her car on an expressway ramp, claimed it broke down, claimed she locked her young son inside the car, then she walked away carrying her young daughter. When the Police got there, the car worked fine, the car was unlocked, and the boy was gone, without a trace. No evidence of foul play, no charges filed, yet.

Growing up in Lake Hills then was a part of Americana, not so much anymore.
I saw the changes when I returned a few years ago.
The K-Mart closed down and became an "LA Gym", Starbucks on every corner.
Middle-class America became an area of wealth and corruption.
I miss the old neighborhood.

Mostly Asian Indians (many are contract software engineers), Filipinos, Chinese, and Russian.
The Filipinos are really excellent people, friendly, very hard working, and quite taken with the idea of being “Americans.”
The Asians and the Russians tend to segregate themselves, but, as far as criminal activity, I feel safer with them than I do around a lot of American born ethnics.
The Bad News - the Asian Indians crush the wage scale for software engineers, and the other immigrants crush the wage scale for low skill and temporary jobs.
