Oh, I don’t know. He might have graduated school and become CEO of a fortune 500 company. Or President. I doubt it. But it could happen!

Domestic violence law assumes women are children. You can be arrested for domestic violence for doing no more than raising your voice. If that. There is a huge problem here. Not in this case necessarily, but the entire law.

“If the accusation was against some random white nerd, I would think the former. Against a football player, it just might be the latter.”

It all comes down to "is the target of the accusation going to have people who might retaliate against an accuser?"

If the answer is yes, then I think a woman is much less likely to pick that person as being somebody safe to make a false accusation against. If the answer is no, then she may feel safe in making a false accusation for revenge or just out of spite.

A person making a true accusation against a person with defenders, particularly defenders who are comfortable with responding violently to "snitches", is more likely to find herself deciding to withdraw the accusation rather than risk winding up beaten to a pulp, or shot, some night.

Remember what happened in Ferguson against both the store where Mike Brown was videoed, and another store which was incorrectly reported as having reported Brown committing a crime.

Here’s an idea. What if she recanted...because nothing happened. He didn’t hit her, push her, touch her.

Should he be re-instated to the team? Believe me this is a big topic here(Alabama). And what would be the reaction if he was let back on the team. And here’s another one. What if they took him back. And then he got charged with another instance?

It is my understanding that he was doing everything that was asked of him, and it was a lot, in order to come to Alabama. You can believe it or not. He had been a model citizen.

It doesn’t affect me one way or another. But being falsely accused is no laughing matter. As a couple of folks have said “he needs to prove his innocence”. How do you do that?
I would think the only way would be for the “victim” to do what she did. It doesn’t get any more clear cut than that.
