A judge has ordered a mental competency exam for a man accused of beheading a co-worker at a food processing plant in Oklahoma.
The Oklahoman reports that defense attorneys for Alton Alexander Nolen requested the evaluation. Cleveland County District Judge Lori Walkley approved their request, and her order was filed Wednesday.

Rereading earlier stories on Mohammad (that's what he demanded to be called) also bragged about "hating whites and beating them...."
He wasn't trying to "convert others to Islam" but forcing others to "convert or die!"
He certainly saw to that with one and attempted to another.
The a$$hole$ can’t imagine that anyone could act out of evil. They take refuge in the accusation of “mental illness”.
The judge has to do this, or any guilty verdict would easily be overturned on appeal. It is part of the ritual.
On the plus side, since in the 1960s and 1970s, scoundrels abused the insanity defense, it is a *lot* harder to make these days. Unless somebody has so obviously stripped their brain gears so much that they are “Tiki as a coco” this defense will not work.
To make things worse, if they are judged insane, it likely means they will spend 23 out of every 24 hours drugged to the gills, only being allowed to wake up to eat, poop and shower. Then back to bed. For the rest of their natural lives. Coma warehousing.
