Large Crowd Expected For Funeral Of Wisconsin Man Shot By Police

A large crowd is expected today at the funeral in Wisconsin for Tony Robinson, the unarmed 19-year-old black man, who was killed March 6 by a police officer in Madison. Police say Robinson was shot after a confrontation in which he allegedly assaulted the officer. Robinson was shot in the head, torso and right arm, according to a preliminary autopsy.

A visitation and funeral for Robinson, whose father is black and mother white, will be held today in a high school field house to accommodate the expected crowd. Protests against his death have been peaceful in line with a call made by Robinson's family.

Robinson's death is the latest of an unarmed black man at the hands of the police. The most prominent of those cases, that of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., led to large protests, sometimes violent, and a Justice Department report that accused the Ferguson police and court system of racial bias.

Madison Police Chief Michael Koval has acknowledged there's a trust gap between the community and police, but was quick to apologize to Robinson's family. And, he says, Madison shouldn't be compared to Ferguson. His department, he says, trained its officers on unconscious racial bias.

"They're aware of those things," he said, "so that we can act as guardians not only to community but towards one another to ensure that those sort of racist outcomes don't occur."

But, as reporter Gilman Halstead of Wisconsin Public Radio, said on Morning Edition this week, protesters say Robinson's death shows that training hasn't worked.

I imagine the likes of Sharpton will pressure this police chief to resign too. And they'll try to implicate Scott Walker and the Tea Party. Then we'll hear that Hillary is more black than Elizabeth Warren is native American. And Hillary can put on her fake accent quoting James Cleveland ... "I don’t feel no ways tired. I come too far from where I started from. Nobody told me the road would be this easy. I don't believe he would bring me this far to leave me."

Well, as they used to say in the army, if you don't spread out, one grenade will get you all. Hopefully that is the case here.

the unarmed 19-year-old black man

Who was disrupting traffic which was why police were called and then police were called a second time because the "unarmed teen" was assaulting someone.

We're at the thought crime stage already.

You can't compromise with anyone or anything that's out to destroy you. It's gonna' be a long, tough summer if police departments, politicians, and citizens don't rally around police officers doing their job.

Has anyone yet said Holder's reports have no validity because they only criticize? They don't give praise where praise is do.

And they'll try to implicate Scott Walker and the Tea Party.

They will try to whip up some form of Ferguson-type unrest, try to make it bigger than local forces can deal with, and dare Walker to use state forces to bring order.

A large crowd was shot by police? Will we need more funerals?

Not only did this unarmed teen disrupt traffic, he also struck the cop multiple times and knocked him to the ground before he was shot.

It is staggering to me how the Left deliberately chooses to believe their fantasy about yet another innocent babe being gunned down simply because of the color of his skin.

They are choosing to believe a lie when the facts are staring everyone in the face.

Dear Tony, Here are some rules for a longer life:

Don’t eat magic mushrooms
Don’t loose control and start beating on people and cars
Don’t beat down a cop

Now it may be too late for you, but maybe your friends can wise up.

The NPR report lied by not reporting Robinson’s attack on the policeman. The fifth-column NPR is a sewer of leftist propaganda and floaters like NPR reporter, Krishnadev Calamur.

“Robinson’s death is the latest of an unarmed black man at the hands of the police.”

Because he was black, right? Isn’t that what we are supposed to ensue?

I'm really tired of the overuse of the word “unarmed. “ I guess the White House propaganda ministry has decreed to the media outlets that they must use that word as often as possible, particularly in headlines. People see the word “unarmed” in the headlines and assume the perpetrator was just standing around minding his own business when a police officer just walked up to him and shot him. They don't bother to read all the details to find out just what the prep did that got him shot.

It's a deliberate tactic to create this false narrative to justify whatever retaliation the anarchists and rent-a-mob sent to the locations of these incidents can come up with. It's part of a plan to decimate local police forces in order to create a national police force under the complete control of the Obama White House. When that police force is created, the law will be whatever the tin pot dictator says it is. And you know the full extent of the “law” will be applied to white Christians and Jews. Blacks, illegals, gays and all the other special privileged classes will be exempt.

And if you fight the cop to get his/her gun...you’re soon to be ...ARMED.

(or trying to be)

When it comes down to it “Unarmed” wouldn’t make any difference to the perpetual outrage crowd. Its outrage for the sake of outrage.

Last summer a cop in Ann Arbor Michigan shot and killed black woman who was in the process of attacking him with a knife. She took a hit from a taser and kept on coming so he put her down. Then the dumb SOB who called police in the first place after the woman stabbed him, turned on the police and was out there protesting against the cop.

It turned out that the same cop had pulled his gun about a month before because a black man had been coming at him with a sword. The perp in that case surrendered at the last second and lived. Naturally the left now treats it as evidence the cop is out hunting black people.
