True enough, though if you look at the people who watch anime or Korean drama that doesn't hold true.
But you're right about subtitle-snobbery keeping people from some cool stuff, like this (awesome AI-tank vs AI-helicopter battle) — though with this particular anime it's since been dubbed.
Blown Away with Jeff Bridges.
Just a terrible movie.
An Italian Viking with two Jewish sons?
Are you nuts? John Malkovich was the perfect Valmont. I can’t think of anyone playing him better. Plus he had great chemistry with Michelle Pfeiffer. Perfectly cast movie.
Glenn Close was robbed of an Oscar that year. She was so believable and perfect as the character you love to hate. Her voice? I’m glad she didn’t have an accent. At least you could understand her. I love British movies but hate it when you can’t understand their mumbling and accents. Australians are worse.
One of the all-time worst castings of an actress has to be Millie Perkins as Anne Frank.
She is just dreadful. She didn’t look like Anne Frank and was too old. She’s probably the only person during the Holocaust that wore false eyelashes. She didn’t even try an accent and she comes across as a whiny spoiled American brat. For such an important movie they should have cast an unknown younger actress.
