Anyone who is really familiar with Windows 10 should be able to answer this simple question;
I am very happy with Windows 8.1. Why should I upgrade to 10?
RE: I am very happy with Windows 8.1. Why should I upgrade to 10?
You don’t have to. Windows 10 was designed for those who complained about the limitations of Windows 8.1
You won’t need to initially, but like everything, 8 will eventually sunset.
Microsoft is pushing their EOL timelines to might tighter standards, so Win7 will likely fall off mainstream support quicker than previous operating systems with Windows 8 soon to follow.
Because it's supposedly going to be free for those who have Win 8 installed? That's the only reason I can imagine upgrading.
Don’t upgrade if you don’t want to. Or wait till some Freepers review it. I’ll be one.
What about Win7, with which I am very happy?
Thanks!
I’m still running Windows 3.1 and it’s fine.
Because MS needs money.

Well there is only one that I have. The Apps are really designed for a tablet. But, OTOH, I don't use them much and wouldn't anyway so for me that is not a big deal. Plus it is not that hard to deal with them anyway.
But of course, as they say, YMMV.
I am running DOS 4.01 and I am perfectly fine.
You shouldn't.
Seriously. If you actually like Win-8.1, keep using it. When the real Win-10 gets out in the real world, take a look at it and see if there's anything in there that you like, that isn't in Win-8.1 ... then you can answer your question for yourself.
Supposedly it is to be a free upgrade for Windows 7 and 8 users.
I am running CPM and it’s perfectly fine.
I am running Commodore BASIC 2.0 for the VIC-20 and it’s fine.
I don’t know why they say Vista was “a disaster.” I’ve got one laptop that has been running it non-stop for seven years without a problem. Never seen a blue screen of death once.
I’m sure your abacus is workin’ swell too, Laz.
Don’t know anything about 10, but 8.1 IMHO is many times worse than Vista. I was happier with pre-windows DOS. BTW, did I tell you I hate 8.1? Please tell me I’ll be happier with 10. When will it be out? You say the upgrade from 8.1 is free?
1. Resistance is futile: You will be assimilated
2. From all indications, it will be an automatic upgrade via Windows Update. . .
Win-7 is sliding toward obsolescence ...
On identical hardware, I find that Win-10TP boots faster than Win-7. I find some aspects of the layout and organization of the interface to be improved over Win-7.
