Saturday nights 102nd Alfalfa Club dinner was closed to the press, but Politico Playbook printed some of the top quips and quotes from the three speakers:
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) had this instant classic, which was the talk of the after-party: Jeb Bush looks like hes running for president. So now we know what the Bush family means by no child left behind.
Robert Gates, former Defense secretary, and this years Alfalfa president: When it comes to drones, I do think we need to reduce their number. The 435 we have in the House is enough.

Smug people, telling bad jokes (which were written for them by other people), while other smug people put on a show of laughing at the “sophisticated wit”.

The Bush one was pretty funny, she must have an in to some good joker writers because that could have been told by a professional comic with no questions asked. And I’d be we’ll hear it again, if Jeb keeps up this quest.

I don’t like Jeb Bush. Period. I do like Scott Walker though. But maybe that’s just my Midwestern prejudice.

Lily Tomlin's gag writer wrote 'Ann Richards'' line that GHWB was born with a silver foot in his mouth.
