Honesty is the issue, and this seems to be in short supply in Foxboro.

Talent seemed to be the issue for the other team. Something they were real short on.

WHAT WE DO "KNOW:"

We know the Patriots beat the Ravens the week before playing the Colts. Part of that win was an offensive line set that Belichick had seen several times over the years in both college and professional football, with usually ineligible receivers reporting in a "eligible."

Harbaugh and the Ravens were very slow to react, and it cost them. Belichick and the Patriots were playing chess while Harbaugh and the rest of the NFL were playing checkers, and Harbaugh was incensed. See his irrational rants about "league intervention" in several post-game interviews.

We know that Harbaugh then called the Colts coach to discuss "catching the Patriots cheating." This was reported on ABC, CNN, FOX, NBC, etc.

It was initially reported that D'Quell Jackson "turned in" the ball proving the Patty's "cheating." This is now known to be not true.

So, who told the refs to check the balls? Might it have been the person (or an agent thereof) who actually did the deed? It sure wasn't the Patriots who asked the refs to check.

Brad Johnson, QB for the Tampa Bay Bucs, has admitted to paying a League employee $7,500 to "fix" all the balls in the Super Bowl that year! Now if a normal guy like Brad Johnson would do that, what might an irrational hothead like Harbaugh be capable of?

He was already humiliated by the Patriots. Something tells me he'll be even moreso when the facts of this are known.

See this: amazing!

To suggest Bellicheat is anything other than a cheat is laughable. :D

Depending on what compressor the Patriots gameball preparer used to inflate the balls, that could also have an effect.

A "reciprocating piston" compressor creates hundreds of pounds of friction as it works. On the first ball inflated using this device, the internal parts wouldn't have heated up enough to much change the air temp, but by the 2nd or 3rd ball, the compressor is pumping 115-to-120-degree (F) air into the ball.

Inflate a ball to 12.5 psi with 120-degree air and then put it in a 50-degree stadium. In 30 minutes, the ball will be 1.6 psi lower.

Except for the first ball, that is, which was inflated before the machine warmed up.

Initial reports claimed that "11 of 12 balls used by the Patriots" were found deficient by "around 2 psi."

All I'm saying is that there are more explanations out there than "They cheated again!" Especially given that they never actually cheated in the first place. They were made an example of by the league for doing out in the open what everyone else was doing behind cover.

Patriots Haters will never listen to logic on this point, but who cares what Haters think? They all suck squid mung anyway.

That had occurred to me independently. I am not even sure it constitutes cheating, so much as sharp play.

Are you this intellectually dishonest in all your dealings, or is it just the Patriots who drive you to this embarrassing level of irrational perfidy?

Oh, and I'm still waiting...

"I am not even sure it constitutes cheating, so much as sharp play."

Bill Belichick playing chess while the mouth-breathing inbreds play checkers. That's what really pisses off all the loser dirtbags. He makes them look like what they are: stupid.

An “uninflated” ball already contains more air than the air needed to further inflate it to 13 psi gauge. The temperature after inflation would only be about halfway between the pump temperature and ambient. If you used the compressor to try to inflate a weather balloon to 200 PSI, just prior to inflating the game balls, and completely evacuated the game balls, so that they were as flat as pancakes prior to filling them up, you might just get the results purportedly observed.

Obviously you can’t see that the real issue is “integrity”. I won’t waste any more time arguing, good day.

Good point.

Many ignoramuses have asked "What more do we need to know before we pass judgement?"

I don't mean to imply that this "piston" compressor is what happened so much as I'm pointing out that alot of folks here are jumping to conclusions based not upon facts, but upon their own rather large prejudices and improbably small minds.

"Obviously you can’t see that the real issue is “integrity”."

Oh, I see it. And I've now proven that it's your "integrity" in question here. Dufus.

After claiming that "honesty is in short supply in Foxboro," you can't even post one example of Brady or Belichick being proven to have lied about anything.

I fully expected you to schlepp back under your rock with no answer, because it doesn't exist.

You. Are. Filth.

Does this really require its own thread?

I love the game of football, and have almost always enjoyed the final championship games more than the Superbowl itself, but right now I am so sick of the “ball” story. I just wish the media sent 1/2 as much time on Benghazi, or the IRS scandal against conservatives, the trillions we are building into the deficit. Football is important, I really do enjoy it, but geeze, I'm sick of this story already!
