BLUFFTON, Ind. (WANE) – Court documents outline gruesome details in the death and treatment of a 3-year-old whose presumed disappearance prompted an hours-long community-wide search on Sunday. Three people are being held by police in the death of Owen Collins. The child was apparently dead, in the home, for almost an entire day before his body was put in a cardboard box, dumped in the woods and set on fire.

The mother of Owen Collins, 21-year-old Breanna J. Arnold and Zachary S. Barnes, 30, were each arrested and preliminarily charged on two felonies: neglect of a dependent resulting in the boy’s death and abuse of a corpse.

An unidentified teenager was arrested along with the couple on Sunday on a felony charge of abuse of a corpse. The 16-year-old had apparently been living with Arnold and Barnes for several months and acted as the babysitter for Owen and his 6-year-old brother.

These "people" are savages. They should be put-down like the rabid animals they are.

That poor baby is in a better place.

All of these people should be handcuffed with their hands behind their backs, then basted with honey and set loose in a room with a large grizzly bear that hasn’t eaten for a few days. Imagine the horror on their faces as they watch the first target get ripped to pieces by the starving bear.

This is the culture of meth. It’s not going away.

We had a meth dealer living in our very respectable garden apartment complex. We wrote letters to management and to the police for a year, even went in person to the police hq where we were literally laughed at because the cops weren’t interested unless the bad guys were actually COOKING meth. Selling wasn’t a problem.

Finally, after almost two years of persistent letters including PHOTOS, the resident’s “connection” stopped showing up here and one low-level “seller” was arrested. The “connection” was an ultra scary Mexican guy who swaggered all over the property in expensive leather pants and a huge black hat. Looked like a caricature of a bad guy….hopefully he won’t come back.

And so, the meth culture grows and thrives all over the place, even in the supposedly nice, safe community. You have to take responsibility for your kids, grandkids and friends, and don’t expect help from “the community.”

Here's one of those victims that you say doesn't exist.

‘We put dope in their bottles and watched them have fun’

According to information gathered by police after interviewing the three suspects, they were all “shooting dope” in the Normandy Drive home Friday night into Saturday. When Arnold went to check on Owen and his 6-year-old brother on Saturday, Owen was dead.

In addition to the admissions police were able to get out of Barnes and the teen, Barnes also mentioned to police how they would put “dope in [the children’s] bottles and watch them have fun.”

Try ‘em and fry ‘em. Murder is a crime no matter what the means used.

Give ‘em the chair...THE CHAIR!!!

Unfortunately Indiana went to lethal injection in 1995, I doubt that these animals will get what they deserve but if they did, I would be all for bringing the electric chair back for them. The picture of the mother in the article just screams "what's the big deal".

So you are just going to ignore the role of drugs in this scenario? As if those parents would have done such a thing anyway if they were not on drugs?

Like I said. Murder is a crime no matter the instrument. The murder of a child is especially heinous. (Big word, go look it up)

Try ‘em and fry ‘em.

People kill each other with guns, knives, baseball bats, tire irons, chains, and drain cleaner. Do you want to ban those to?

If the possession of guns, knives, baseball bats, tire irons, chains, and drain cleaner had a biochemical reaction with the decision making portions of the human brain, you would have a point. As they do not, you do not.

Acknowledge it or not, the human body is a massively complex system which incorporates chemicals as part of it's thinking and messaging process. Tampering with biochemistry functionally alters mind and will at a fundamental level, and few people can overcome such tampering and assert a normal will.
