Two weeks ago, I researched online about what "asymmetrical warfare" is, and then all heck broke loose since that time for two weeks. I got knocked off the internet on the average of every ten minutes, every single day. Internet Explorer had monumental issues, but when I did get on I utilized weather data for my area, then on to FR as usual. But when I was on FR, I would get bumped off AGAIN... I had a tech come to the house to find out whether there was any kind of issue with the internet, and he said there was none that he was picking up--but did say I could just have the internet signal rerouted through the 'phone box' and then through a router I could buy (the previous router was a modem/router combo). Since I have done so, I can now browse and such, but am still encountering a mess of very slow response to search commands, ESPECIALLY when I am seeing to go on to FR.

It could be many things. Are you logging on with a wire or wireless? Have you tried Firefox?
I live out in the sticks and was seeing almost exactly the same thing as you a couple of years ago on my DSL modem.
I switched modems and went with a single router/modem combo and things got a lot better, but still not great because of my location and phone line age leading to our house, they were put in back in the 50’s and are filled with water now they said.
AT&T finally got U-Verse connected out as far as I was and it all went away for me.
Clean out your “cookie jar” and restart your computer.
Make sure you are not signed into a data mine like Facebook.
Another GOOD utility is Combofix, available from BleepingComputer.
Have you tried a different computer?
Combofix... really came close to destroying my computer a while back. It is powerful but I would use it as a last resort.
I’ve got both the free and pay version of Malwarebytes, including Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit Premium running already (for about a month), and I will do CCleaner and Avast Antivirus too as you suggest. Hopefully that will do the trick, as I have suspected from the beginning there is something lurking about in my system.

And do what Geron suggested with Firefox.
It lets you manage your cookies with much greater ease and discretion than IE.
With Firefox you can see just who has got what in the way of “analytics” on your machine. I’ll wager you’re going to be *very* surprised.
get a USB “live disc” and boot it up instead of Windows (do not INSTALL it though) and run Firefox or Pale Moon and see if there are any issues.
Although the most likely problem is your connection. Sometimes a loose wire outside will whip around in the wind and cause a connection to be intermittent.
I was having problems with FR too, turns out that my dog didn’t like the attention I was paying to the stories you guys post and was chewing on my internet cable.
Wireless connection logon, and as for Firefox—Omigosh, you talk about browsers messing up! It kept opening up multiple tabs without my say-so to ad sites, and pop-up add crap everywhere. Could never get anything done, so after two tries of uninstalling and reinstalling and making sure I had the latest version, I finally called it quits. I’m thinking of reinstalling Tor.
