I think it's pretty clear in that picture that the iceberg flips no more than about 60-70°. I don't mean to suggest [and didn't mean to suggest in the original post] that an iceberg can't flip 180°. It can actually flip more than 180° if it has enough angular momentum when it turns. But it will equilibrate into a position where most of the 'berg is once again under water when it finally settles. The "once bottom" of the berg does not flip out of the water. Just whatever facet is necessary to restore the equilibrium of buoyant force and torque. The article is just incorrect.

That one overflips about 50°, and then returns to about 25° from the original by the end of the film.

The article is correct. You are wrong. You can’t even believe what you see with your own eyes.

It’s not flipping all the way over. It’s not even close.

The article says it's rare. It isn't. It happens all the time. The pictures are clear, neither of them is even close to 90°, let alone a complete flip.

The article claims that the exposed ice is always blue. It isn't. here is a more typical flip. It's about 90 °https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypNpDEsTg4g. Notice that the ice is not blue.

The article is over-sensationalized dramaqueen marlarkey.

I read somewhere that it was thought the Titanic may have hit a “black berg,” one like this, that is difficult to see at night.

Why are glaciers blue?

From the USGS:

Because the red (long wavelengths) part of white light is absorbed by ice and the blue (short wavelengths) light is transmitted and scattered. The longer the path light travels in ice, the more blue it appears.
