Very cool.
I enjoyed it too and hope all else will
Nice.
wow
neat
The British soldier guarding the German POWs is awfully loose with his weapon and nazis at his back. Must be lots of other armed allies around.
I think the prisoners were thankful THEIR participation is over ... and they knew the English and Americans weren’t cruel and had no C camps.
I think a pretty neat one would be Harry Truman sitting at his desk saying, “well just drop the damm bomb” dissolving into Zero doing.........
well, let’s face it, you could dissolve to him doing just about anything and it would look stupid.
My Dad said he and another guy were on patrol when they ran into some Germans. The Germans dropped their weapons and asked to be taken prisoner. The guy with my Dad just wanted to shoot them all but my Dad walked them back to camp as prisoners. He told me the story before he died in 2002 and he was still horrified by the guy that was with him.
Fantastic - thank you!
In the end a lot of the guys were conscripts forced to fight a war they all knew was lost at gunpoint.
Dad said the guys didn’t want to be there. He was just a skinny 18 yr old kid himself.
not sure about iPad or anything else.me I just scrolled down through all the photos
happy to share
AHC (American Heroes Channel) runs a lot of great WWII history shows with interviews with old soldiers.
One Brit said “We were good men who committed unspeakable acts of brutality because the Nazis would have it no other way”.
sorry if I’m misreading your post... but if you click the image, it will fade into a modern day shot of the exact same scene. It really is dramatic. I wish there were more of these
think you reconnect...Happy to be alive and in safe hands
