We went to the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl. It was 34 degrees on Colorado Blvd at 6 AM! That was plenty of winter!

We had the same. Can you believe? 34 degrees. Brrrrrrrr. And it only warmed up to what, 50 degrees. It was fun for two days but I gotta have my coffee and paper out on the patio in the morning.

Is that your foto DJ? That wave looks like it’s frozen in mid air.

It was really rough at the Oregon tailgate party at noon. Can you imagine the tragedy of having a beer with friends when it’s only 55 and sunny out? Just horrible, I tell you.

Thank you. My best ones are probably about 100. Out of those I won a little money or award on maybe over 10. I will give you my flickr link. I upload anything I want to share so there are too many flowers, some mundane, some nice ones and scans. I had my own site but gave it up because it was $39.95 a month and I was way underutilizing my space.

I have had offers to shoot for pay but I couldn't handle the stress and trying to please someone. Instead if I get something special I think certain people would appreciate, I was having a nice large print(s) made or burned them onto a CD. I haven't done any serious photography for maybe 3 years now. I participated on dpreview and that is where so many people mentored me help make my work better. But the shots I was seeing of others were so spectacular and faraway places, it kept me humble.

Here are two. My little owl. I had to get down on my stomach to get that shot and pose the owl that didn't want to cooperate and scratched me, not too bad. Most of my photos have a story. I hadn't seen a pussywillow in years. I decided I wanted a photo of some pussywillows. So I'm thinking how. Then I met someone who worked for the Park Board I met at the gas station and asked him. He couldn't think of any.

So I ordered one, think it was the Arbor Day Foundation. It took a couple years but if I get out there at the right time of early spring, I can get all the pussy willow shots I need. The one I will post was published in our local newspaper, and it was mentioned how hard a shot like this was to get. Yes, it was. I had a finicky Sigma macro lens, put my camera on a monopod and finally got the blue of my house as a nice bokeh background.

I'll throw in one more just for the fun of it, a favorite of mine but not particularly liked by anyone else, was guest photographer at a wedding. So I like to do people photos, too. Yes, I was shooting RAW by then and should have turned the WB down a bit plus the composition with the cropped heads leaves something to be desired but I like it anyway.

Here is the link I hope will work for you at flickr, just a hodge podge. Most of the eagles are the Alcoa eagle cam screen shots a couple years ago.

I do like nature shots of all kinds, architectural interests, and sometimes a defiant streak to flaunt people who try to stop me from taking what I want from public access.

I just dont know how us people on the west coast handle it. 55 degrees. You must have been freezing. Stay warm.

Thank you. I never thought to share my photos on FR because there really weren’t appropriate threads for it but I have posted a very few in the recent past on the garden thread.

Wow, nice! Grand Haven pier probably won’t get that good, but I may check it out today. Not sure I can get out of the car though.
